Sajha Friends,

I live in US and I am going to Nepal this winter to get married. I know its going to be impossible to bring to US all the gifts I get there. How can I tell politely and nicely to the guests of my marriage ceremony to give me something that I can take back to US easily? Is there a system in Nepal to give gifts like visa-gift-cards or american-express-gift cards? Or is there a place in Nepal where I can sell the gifts in US dollars? Thanks for your suggestions friends.

Luchha

Common guys, what the shhit u all r talking about? He is just asking a simple/practical question and u all are making fun of him. is sajha full of such people?

What's wrong in his question? He is getting married and its obvious that people will present something. When u get married u dont want any gifts from your friends/relatives? It does not matter what the gift is but its always special. And as far as I can understand his query is simple, he is just asking how can he inform all the guests not to present huge(in size) gifts yet being very polite.

All the guys who have responded above, I just wanna say dont just be very critical. Of course I respect and value your selfishnessles attitude but guys u have to be praactical. its easy to type in sajha, hiding behind your monitor. Its his wedding ceremony and its simple that people will come up with some gifts for BHOJ heheh (Im not sure luchcha is a guy or gal coz its esp gals side where u have to carry gifts). But if he wants to carry his gifts to Amrika, Russia or Pakistan thats not our concern coz thats his thing.

There was a similar incident last week, my friend threw a graduation party and he wrote in card NO MATERIALISTIC GIFTS. what does that mean? As we know him very well, we presented some spiritual gifts i.e. books, and a month yoga lesson ticket.

-----------
And Im writing all these assuming Luchha is a guy and he is only talking about small gifts from friends/relatives. If he is talking about DAIJO from would be Sasurali, my comments will be totally different.

Oh ya last but not the least....Congrts on getting LIFE IMPRISONMENT........u got it??

It sucks that youtube doesn't allow any x-rated videos :-( or, else...

anyhow, yes i do need a GC bro...but, i completely forgot about my GC because i started to think about nepali vagina. i think i'm in love with it. Shit man, i shouldn't have divorced her. :-(

Bro, tell me about your experience. Ever had nepali three-sum? Oohhhhhh, juee nai shreeing bhyio! That's like one of my dream-fantasy :-)

Luchha,

Friend of mine got married in Nepal he informed people that he would prefer cash as he can make use of it...but he still got many pressure cookers, steel plates, pashupati temple etc.....

I think ppl in Nepal do understand these days its ok to inform.  All the best!!

Congratulations Luchha!

It's very simple. Just print in your invitation cards "Gifts are appreciated but cash prefered due to logistics". If you think they cannot understand that, then be direct and print "Cash Gifts Preferred". And tell your parents that when they are inviting the guests, they can discretely mention the difficulty in carrying all the gifts back to US. Hence, cash gifts would be welcomed.

My gift for you and your wife-to-be is this:

"What is the best gift you ever received? Better still, what is the best gift you ever gave? Perhaps you will recall that in each instance, the best gift was one that was tied with the heartstrings of the giver, one that included a part of self." - Wanda Fulton

Condoms would be the best gift for you, coz it is easier to carry, light weight and very useful for 1 or two years after marriage....
in the invitation card write like,
Condom gifts would be appreciated...

The best thing would be not to expect any gift and even if somebody insists on bringing one, donate it to somebody who is in need. You'll find tons of people in need.
