Xena...limited things to do in Sydney?? seriously??

From what I remember even though it was a long time ago, hmm...can't you just take the subway and go to the opera house, go out to eat, just chill, take the ferry and go to Bondi Beach....tons of stuff you can do!! hmm...just take the subway and you can practically go anywhere in Sydney..go visit friends/relatives who don't live close by!! Sydney is SO much fun...how can you be bored?? Just go out and do stuff and it's so easy cause you don't even need a car like here in the US to just go do the groceries or something...you can take the subway everywhere!! And isn't it summer there now?? I would just hop on the ferry and go to the beach everyday...ahaha!! Where abouts in Sydney do you live?

Have fun!! :)

Nails darling,

Of course I can take a train and go to opera house. The thing is, I have already done all of those which you just mentioned above. Even travelled outside of Sydney. I was merely just asking what other ppl do. Yea, Sydney is an interesting place to be.

Xena what i do is just go the nearest beach . I just go either 2 Manly or bondi. if you love books u can go to the nearest library, every suburb has one or either go to the malls for window shopping if you live in places where there are big malls.

You can't be serious? All I can say is Australian summer beats the hell out of midwest/northeast dead winter any day!

How about learning to sail? I tried this about a couple of weeks ago- and it's a lot of fun. You have to be somewhat fit though because you gettin' a workout too :)

Tried the outdoor clubs/bars, like the ones on Parramatta Road? I was in Sydney during the New Year celebrations- and look, there is nothing like sipping martini and dancing away barefoot on a hot steamy night......now where else on earth can you dance barefoot on  new year's eve, or in Jan or Feb for that matter?

This place is a heaven for the outdoorsey type- I've done some boating, water skiing, fishing, body surfing, etc. in Lakes Entrance, which is about a couple of hours drive from Melbourne. I am sure you'd enjoy these...there's got to be lakes nearby Sydney somewhere...

How about golf :) ? Nothing like a tee-off on a 18-hole golf course near one of the beaches...Rosebud, Mornington Peninsula will do! Ok- so you don't like golf...

How about Go-Karting? Like the movie 'Days of Thunder'? Well, now you'd be able to experience it...the karts only go up to 35km/hr though...but when you are just 2 inches off the ground it feels more like 200km/hr...trust me you are going to love it...just try it out...

Whatever you do...please do NOT sit home and watch a movie....and let the Australian summer pass you by :))

Cheers!

Hey Java,

Yea, water sports here is great. But am not really the water kinda person. I am more of the hiking type. Ani golf....ummm...I guess everyone has their own interest. Golf is sorta boring for me. Go karting sounds good! Where is it at? The thing with life here is everyone is free at a different time and it's hard to catch up with friends for a trip like those. And yea, aus summer is just awesome..but this year, we have been getting more rain than usual hoina? And  no, I won't sit at home and watch movies :D

Sgy: I have been to melbourne. It's great, but I like Sydney better :P
