Can you please share your experience how to get marriage and birth certificates from Nepal? Is it mandatory to be physically present to get these certs? Thanks in advance.

Dont know about birth certificate as I was born in hospital hence my parents had all of the required documents.

But for the marriage certificate you and your spouce have to be physically present, along with an eye witness. I just did a year earlier. If you are planing to use it out of nepal it has to be translated. The office is in Babarmahal. you have to pay few rupees cant remember well how much.

Hope this helps

Sampada

 Dear All,

Though I am a lawyer, on this subject I do not have much idea and need your help.

I am planing to get married with a foreign girl in her country in Central Asia. I have been told to get a Unmarried Certificate from Nepal. So, how the process works and how can I get that? Where should I contact for that?

Any idea about the time line - how many days it may take as I have very few days to spend in Nepal?

Do I have to get additional stap or verification from Nepalese Embassy in her Country? The problem is that in her country, there is no Nepalese Embassy and Nepalese Embassy Moscow looks after there. In that case, do i have to also approach to Nepalese Embassy in Muscow?

Please be kind and help me with your views and experience.
I know the post is old but I hope you allow me to raise my doubts.

The best approach would be to contact your ward office (wada office). They would be able to verify and write a letter that you are not married at present or you were never married. I don't know the time line though. If you know some one in that office, you might get it in a matter of days, but if you do not know anyone it may take couple of weeks. That is how the nepal governement works.
