You can get married right now, the longer you are in a relationship the easier it is for you to get your green card. But dont file your paperwork for adjustment of status. Wait till she gets her citizenship and the very next day you could file your paper work. You would get you green card within 2 years. But if you are trying to base this relationship just for green card then i would say you should think and rethink about it. These types of marriage dont last long. I've seen it all the way. If you are really certain that she is the one that you want to spend the rest of your life then congratulation and move forward. So for now just get a marriage certificate take few pictures while getting married etc etc. Later it would be easy for you to convince the interviewer that you didnt get married seeking benifits. God bless you YekloYatri

roker, as far as I know you can get married whenever you want and even file I-130 before your GF gets her naturalization certificate and you will have to wait down the line to get your greencard, but as soon as your wife gets citizenship your case will be current and you will be interviewd pretty soon. It takes 3 years to be eligible to apply for your own citizenship after you get your green card through marriage. Gud luck

Thing is that if INS track your information and find out that you are married to this person and have different home address and living separately than sure they will deny your case and also in some cases they might give you guys a surprise, coming to your house to see if you guys really living together or not ( this happen usually when they have complain about you and your partner or if INS feels that this might be a fake marriage). It's better to live together know each other lifestyle and if they take interview separately also u guys can give same answer. They might ask question like what's the color of your refrigerator, tv, sofa etc etc. Good luck .

Puzzeled, U dont have to live together tara interview maa u have to give valid reason eg. study ko lagi seperate bhaer baseko etc. Roker first get married and apply for the grean card. as soon as she gets her citizenship ur gf/wife has to send a letter (attach a copy of her citizenship certificate) to USCIS to upgrade ur status. within 6 mth to 12 mth, u will receive ur work permit.

Ya she has to get her citizenship in order u to get ur work permit. In my opinion it is good for u to get married now and fill the application for ur green card eventhough she hasnt receive her citizenship. when she gets her citizenship, u dont have to worry about those application and as soon as she gets her citizenship, she can send letter to uscis ask them to update ur status. i think this is the fast way. ur f-1 status only change after u get ur workpermit.
