Hello All,
I got into one major problem. My I 485 was filed in 2007 August and USCIS send finger print notice on November 31.
I never received the copy of the notice and lawer never told me about it( even I inquired thousand times). So I never got my FP done. Now I got a copy from lawer but it is already 4 months late. Also there is no trace of my EAD and APO, however the checks were cashed in Oct 2007. The lawer says EAD and APO were never filed.
In the FP notice it says, if you do not appear on the date your I 485 will be considered abandoned.
This whole thing is driving me into nuts. Its all because of my ignorant Lawer.
I am not worried about EAD and APO but definately FB and I am going to call USCIS the earliest and try to get it rescheduled.
So my question is, has anybody experienced rescheduling the FP. If so what is the procedure, can I get it done from USCIS Customer Service or do I need to send the request in writing.
Please don't tell me to ask my lawer, she is of no help. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance!!

Hello sathi, you cannot reschedule your finger print appointment if it is so late, as you already know uscis assumes that you abandoned your application process. you have to reapply.the best thing you can do is go to your nearest service center n talk to uscis official in person.good luck.

Thanks sathi for your response, but I have you ask you this question. Is that your guess or a rule? If so, after how many days the applicaion is considered abondoned.
I had checked the status of I 485 online and it says "Documents posted for on the address we have on file" which I never received. I called them up and ask to resend it. I guess that must be the second notice for FP.
My Application was filed in CA now I've moved to TN, If I visit the USCIS of TN is that going to be of any help? By the way I've already changed my current address on I485 application to TN.

Team Player,
I suggest call the 1-800 USCIS Customer Service number and they will forward your call to someone who can help you or give your proper suggestions. They are pretty helpful there! So, good luck!
