Hi guys,
I am planning to file an application for Canadian Permanent Residency soon. I have completed my MS in biochemistry from USA and now working for more than 1 and half year here. I want to claim a total of 2 years of work experiences so that I will have enough points without having to claim maximum points for Reading/Writing, etc. So I thought of claiming a total of ½ year of work experience from my part-time teaching experience in a college in Nepal. But, I am in a dilemma - how the experience letter should be prepared from there while I did not have fixed annual salary and fixed annual hours of experience. If you guys have any idea, could you suggest me how the letter be prepared?
======== here is the sample experience letter for your comments ================
Subject: To whom it may concern:
Dear Sir/Madam,
This is to certify that Mr. XYZ worked as a part-time Assistant Lecturer at this XYZ campus from 2002-10-02 to 2004-08-14 (for a period of 1 year, 10 months, 12 days) for 3 hours per day with a maximum of 15 hours per week when no holidays. His remuneration was CAN $ 1.20/ hour (Rs. 60/hour at the exchange rate $1 CAN = Rs. 50 Nepalese Rupees). During this time, he worked a total of 1230 hours (410 days) with the total salary of CAN $ 1,476 (Nepalese Rs. 73,800). His duties included teaching undergraduate students a Chemistry course, conducting labs and grading their lab assignments.
I wish him success in the days to come.
Please feel free to contact me should you have any question.
Sincerely,
XYZ

My Questions:
1. Who should write the experience letter: Campus chief or Department chief?
2. Should the letter be sealed and signed from outside?
3. How the duties be mentioned?
4. How the part time work-experience be mentioned?
5. How the annual salary be mentioned as required by Immigration? Or, can we just mention only the hourly amount without calculating the total annual salary?
6. Should I include any other information?
Any suggestion will be much appreciated. It will be easier for me if you guys edit the sample letter above and paste it or if you paste your own experience letter if you also had similar problem/situation.
Thanks in advance.
