but there are two thapas - one is magar (indigenous tribe and makes about 7% of Nepal's population) and the other is Chettri thapa (makes 12.5% of population and 15% are bahuns). i hope u know this.

please accept the facts. just by talking or wrting comments on website like sajha won't invite dark storms. it is a fact how minorities are treated in Nepal or here.

madhesi movement is the recent result even though i don't agree with their demands. and i have plenty of decent bahun friends. but i am practical and i have bitter experiences with bahuns too especially in the official works. and i bet most of us have gone through it.

There are several stories and so called holy books that is discriminatory to other castes. Like this code of Manu in Manusmriti, which was written by a king about 2,000 years ago. YES, Manu was a king, pressumably, the first human king. But of course bahuns were the unofficial law makers. It was all a propoganda of a few elites with power and education in their hands. It was a legal authorization of slavery towards the Shudras (peasants), by priests and landlords with the help of religion. But If you look back 2000 years ago, which society didn't have slaves?

In those times, all races and tribes were in conflicts when they contacted each other and whoever won, enslaved the others. In many cases the winner race even exterminated the entire population of the defeated race. They were all animalistic and barbarians hence such ruthlessness towards the others.
