I got an email from my nephew in australia. I dont know if this is his original article but it is very significant and important to all Nepalese living abroad. This has been true to many lives...will happen in the future as well with many people. For a moment i paused after reading this poem and it made me think about my purpose of stay in the US. my eyes filled with tears especially when I read the last paragraph.
I hold a degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management and would really love to move back home permanently. Nepal is a paradise for tourists and tourism employees but I do not see any scope currently....not for another 5-10 years. It really hurts that the political parties have shattered dreams of many people around the globe who want to return back home to a new and prosperous Nepal....which is limited to dreams for now. I am ready to leave behind the comfort of car, ac and other forms of materialistic comfort of the US only if the country if stable. Believe me i would not think twice about travelling in motorbike in dhuwa and dhulo in my beloved kathmandu....i wouldnt mind the heat of summer without ac........only if the country was stable. i really miss nepal...my people...family...thanks to all the corrupt political leaders in nepal for creating such circumstances. people of other nations are very lucky in the sense that they get to return to their homeland after graduating in the US. they get good pay as well as honor back in their motherland...most of all they get to be with their loved ones............
please share your feelings after reading the poem.............

As JFK had said.... ""Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." Japan started from ground zero in 1945....Pakistan in 1947 and Bangladesh in 1971...

Kaji Sahab................The Poem illustrates the true mental and physical state of Nepalese who are living abroad.........but Once you live in Nepal for a while after living a long time in the USA.....due to the situation in Nepal one can easily divert the poem to America mo Ek din feri Janchhu.
I was in Nepal in 2006 for two months and due to all the chakka Jam , Riots, Load shedding, Nepal Bandha, polution, lawlessness, no traffic rules, Dusty, curroption and BRIBES were always haunting me when I tried to open a business in KTM.........., MANY MANY relatives popping with financial difficulties on me .... some real, some just an easy FIX because I was America return Hence the impression that I was LOADED. Same old tension about everyday life, idealness, Feeling of stuck, and since I wasnt working.....Money was running out in my bank so I started abusing my credit card..I was dying to come back to America. because Nepal is not a fun place when you start to run out of money...........BRO I LOVE NEPAL...I LOVE MY FAMILY but here in America...I atleast work and earn and live without distraction, Its hard....but I can help my family more from here than being back home....DUE TO THE UNSTABLE COUNTRY. ............I wish things are more stable so we all can do something about it.........BUT NOW-A-DAYS..................the fear of being kidnapped, extorted,,,,,,,,,,,and loosing everything I have worked so hard for makes me feel safer here.in the US.....BUT I LOVE TO RETURN ONEDAY when things are better.....and do a lot for my Mother Land. CALL ME SELFISH but I aint stupid or foolish........I am just waiting for the right Time to go back...as for now Im concentrate in My own developement.........

i agree MadDog, we are not here by will, a force is there to make us sit here. RAHAR LE HAINA KAR LE BASEKO HO HAMI .
Nepal ta jane tara gayera ke garne, jagir khane? Private ma .. they pay you less than the cost of living. In government u need to know high ranking officers. Corruption, strike, pollution, crimes , is there anything to describe nepal more than this, at least now.
I know if we start saying this and stay like this than nothing gonna be happen in nepal. tara ke garne, nepal bhayeko business chlauna didainan, kamai bhanda kharcha dherai huncha, We stay in worlds most powerful nation and are effected by price rise than can we imagine about Nepal.
Naya nepal aaula kei hola bhanera baseko tyo ne LOPPA khawai halyo. Aba being frank friends MAILE TA NEPAL JANE AAS NAI MARI SAKE..

I dont have every answer to your questions and I dont think there are any right or wrong answers. But I have been hearing these kind of logic everywhere- Nepal ma stability भये फर्किन्छु भन्ने। But stablility is there, political stability is always like that सर्कार् बद्लिरहन्छ के गर्ने , जाह पनि त्यै त हो नि।

bajeko sekuwa...malai laaj lagdaina kina bhane laaj ttyo manchhe lai lagchha jas le aru manchhe lai jhukyauchha. ma ta kuro straight bhandai chhu......stable government bhayo bhane i would go back. i am not demanding any one to build the nation and go back but to do my part towards the development of nepal, the political stability is a must. ko manchhe chhai swarthi hudaina ra???? tara ma aile nepal gayera suicide garne soor ma chhaina.
ur right that i always dreamt about coming here when i was in nepal but as they say "u dont know what u got till its gone".......i know how beautiful nepal is and how important family is. some enjoy nuclear family while others prefer joint.
i totally agree with you maddog.....i am selfish too right now waiting for the right time to go back and do something but i am not foolish to return nepal tomorrow. like i said.....most of the appointments at the Tourism Board and HAN -hotel association of nepal is politically influenced. Nepal tourism baord is under direct control of the Ministry of Tourism and civil aviation. untill the government is stable how can a person work under the tourism ministry and help develop nepal in tourism and hospitality?????
i really feel bad when my professors talk about the tourism crisis in class and the opportunites nepal has in terms of sustainable tourism. i feel guilty having to work in the hospitality and tourism sector in the US when i could be doing the same to my motherland and be with my loved ones.
thanks for understanding my point unicornis......nepal can really be walking on the path of economic development if we could get the tourism sector going.
The tourism industry contributed 3.7 percentage of Nepal’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product) in 2003/04.
The World Travel and Tourism Council expects the contribution of Travel and Tourism industry of Nepal to rise from 6.8% (NPR 46.1 billion or US $ 716.5 million) in 2008 to 7.9% (NPR 110.7 billion or US $ 1172.9 million) by 2018. It also expects the real GDP growth to be 4.3% in 2008 and to average 4.9% per annum over the coming 10 years.

kaji bro,
good, i like statisics and numbers. better than phony talks. u r right too about nepal's corrupt systems. but don't u think it is the time for change. i know all sectors including tourism is also marred by corruption as we even don't know where the revenue goes??.
also tourism is notoriously volatile industry that solely depends on a nation's stability. u can read an article about Komodo National park of Indonesia. Nepal went through similar fate when it come to tourism.

Unicorn Bro........Who will let things happen in Nepal bro???? and what do you expect getting from a country plauged by constant Chakka jaam, students protesting, Riots, Load shedding??? Does that look like a very good place to invest....as a business man......My contribution can gradually grow in Nepal But Right now I aint a fool; in Investing In Nepal. No one wants to. People wouldnt want to visit a country where they have to carry their luggage from the air port because of chhaka jaam or cant go sightseeing because of Nepal bandha and security reasons???????///// Unicorn bro..........I know that we all love our country but..think practically....what can we do.....any sensible person knows ..Business cant flourish under the conditions Nepal is and ,,,,,FOR ALL THOSE WHO THINK WE JUST TALK........LOOK IN THE MIRROR BEFORE YOU SPIT OUT WORTHLESS VENOM....=

darjeelinge dai ur welcome......sachhi kai dhanyabad ta kabita lekhne lai....maile ta matra post gareko.
sahara there is a difference between being a fresh graduate and start working in nepal and established people in the tourism sector. only the wealthy and established people are surviving in the tourism sector sector in nepal. aru sabai ta taat palti sake........
aant chha bhandai ma dharahara bata hamfalne kura aaudain....practically sochna pani paryo......thats what maddogg and i are doing. we dont claim ourselves to be the most patriotic nepalese but we are simply waiting for the right time to return which may or may not come....we will be very fortunate to contribute something to the motherland if fate permits.

Sahara bro I completely understand your comment. and I respect your views. Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world and I beg to differ that they are the true heroes of Nepal. If they were heroes... than Nepal wouldnt be as bad as we are now. Rich are getting richer and the poor still suffer. Like kaji said ....aat chha bhandai dharara bata hamphalne kura aaudaina. If we were in Nepal kura aarkai hunthyo.......we would struggle to survive like everyone else. being in America we have great Ideas to develope and contribute in Nepal but reality is that People in Nepal are suffering...now do we want to go back and suffer along with them and be called HEROES trying to make a difference when business men are being killed, kidnapped and tortutered??? Please dont tell me that business of any kind is not suffering in Nepal because as far as I know, every sector and everywalk of life is in dire struggle in Nepal hence the poorest country in the world..... AND we are lucky enough to have a choice....do I have to feel guilty about being In America working hard and earning a living here??? do I have to feel sorry because I am in a better situation to develope my self far more than what I can do In Nepal??? do I leave everything I have worked sooo hard to achieve and go back and try to start a business in an environment where nothing is stable???? NO WAY......and I bet you sahara.....give every oppertunist Nepali In Nepal an option to leave Nepal NOW and live else where abroad.....where there is plenty of water, electricity, food, security, oppertunity and stability............My Guess.....There will be almost an Empty Nepal Right now.........and Im talking about the present situation of Nepal. BUT if Nepal was stable and economy was good , jods everywhere, stable law and investors paradise............How many people would leave Nepal????? MY GUESS NONE except vacationers. AND lastly bro..........AAT is there bro....my anger is my worst enemy.........tara my AAT not just me....I have a family and future of my family depends on the decesion I make...I HAVE NO DESIRE TO BE A SAHID.
