Same here, so I quit it and decided to go to college again if you found one consultant who give interview by those ppl then let me know

if you have your H1, try joining Infosys, Wipro or TCS as they will have direct clients and usually have jobs. Try to contact them directly.

Guys market is too bad. every one is going through the samething. hopefully things will get better by Jan.

i am also about to get done with this project and have the same problem will be hard to find job after that.

What do you guys have to say about going back to school? I have an undergraduate degree in Finance..tried the Indian consulting thing and is not working despite several vendor interviews and most jobs or requirements are either fake or are on hold. I cant wait anymore and am thinking to go back to school, for MS degree..(STEM related)..Do you think..it is the right step I am about to take.Plus I have H1B ..and want to change to F1..

Going back to school is always a good idea. But everybody cannot afford to go back again to college. But find the college which gives CPT.

Same here no requirement no vendor or client call!! it is really frustrating

I think pretty much every college gives CPT or am not sure. Atleast going to college will keep me busy and create positivity in me..rather then stay like this without working ..and on bench..will never ever consider going through Dhoti consulting....it would have been better at a different time, but not at this crisis time..

Recently Our Company had requirement for SQL Server DBA and I was told to interview the candidate.Instead of hiring candidate,Top management decided to get rid of candidates(SQL developers and .Net guys) from india in the face of economy downturn. It is so sad that We consultants will be their first choice when it comes to economy downturn . I already have feeling of insecurity when my turn will come despite the fact that I have worked in this company for 3 and 1/2 years.Anyway Guys Good luck.

 

In my company, they got rid of consultants first then employees...

I would suggest go back to Nepal and come back in Jan or Feb, before that talk with the lawyer and get all paper work from you company.

Call IRS and get your last 2 or 3 years tax return, pay some moeny to your consultancy and run your payroll. As you can get that moeny back when you file ur tax return.  make sure u have aleast 2 payroll.

Talk with the lawyer he will give you idea how us face the interview.

That is what one of my friend did and he left to Nepal.

which state are you in ?? You guys will to relocate anywhere?? If so send me a message will give you more info. you need to realize that Nov-Feb is slow market. Company Budget is usually announced in Feb, you can find one or two here and there. The market is tough ppl asks for GC or EAD, but can definetely try.
