I used to love songs composed by Mukti and Revivals. They used to have originality but this time they have broken my heart. It is a matter of great shame that one of the best Nepalese band like Mukti and Revivals has copied a song (or should I say their source of inspiration) "JABA MA SAMJHANCHU" from a Pakistani song called "Kahdena" by a singer called Alamgir. This is a matter of grave concern because this band has been able to win 4 awards during Hits FM Music Awards 2065. (BEST ROCK COMPOSITION, BEST PERFORMANCE BY A GROUP OR DUO WITH VOCAL, BEST ROCK VOCAL PERFORMANCE, POP / ROCK ALBUM OF THE YEAR).
Original composition will definitely get discouraged by this act. I know about copyright infringements hence I am not posting this song here directly. I am ready to break this copyright infringement to know everyone how unfair it is for original music composers. Hence, if anyone wants to listen to that pakistani song then I can forward that to u. Leave ur message with email address in this thread if u want to hear that song.
SHAME, SHAME Puppy SHAME Mukti and revivals. BOO.....

I don't know about the originality of that pakistani song but what I know is Mukti's music in that song is not original, yet he bagged 4 awards. Apart from that, Alamgir is an old singer and the fact is it has been very long that he left singing. So you guys / gals can judge about the originality of that song.
I don't think that song is in youtube but it's rendition is in youtube. Link is

Just listen to the music and it does match with Mukti's song.

It does actually sound similar.
But Mukti's been playing blues and folk rock ever since and when you play within a set of chords/scales, you don't have much choice - it is bound to match .. not totally though.
And as per the Coldplay-Satriani controversy, these sound similar on tempos too. Its indeed a difficult task to find the thin line of plagiarism on music.
I hope someone reads their music and analyzes it more - than base their judgment without a definite proof - that it is indeed plagiarism.
Mukti n Revival is a pretty respected band on the rock scene. Please understand that it would alter the reputation even if this allegation is fraudulent.

chainreactor dude, a lil Music theory for you: Blues and Rock 'n Roll (including Punk Rock until the mid 80s) all have a three chord root: ADE, GCD, EBbC, DGA, etc. Because of this limitedness, there tends to be an overlapping of similar music in any songs of these genre. Mukti n Revival's music may sound like its been plagiarized but if you look at all Rock n Roll and Blues icons, you'd see how similar all the music is. Elvis' jerking to the EXACTLY same bass line used from Chuck Berry and Bill Haley and the Comets to great Beatles themselves...While Gary Moore shutting his eyes with a wide open orifice trynna mimic the sounds made by his guitar when playing the blues of a similar sound that had already been used and abused by BB King and even Jimi.
Because of the limited chords used in this genre and Mukti being a Blues guitarist first and foremeost, his music will overlap with those of other Blues guitarists. Its as simple as that and if you cannot comprehend then go take a course in music theory to help you better understand such basic principles.

Yeah mamfuli, I've noticed that it is innate within most Neps to live with a crafty and slick lioness' stance...Wait for a water buffalo to fugck up before going for the kill with no mercy. And this the Neps here on sjaha do every day but in real life, they wouldn't even talk about such phenomenons...Always smiling as though they're cool about everything. Man, I've seen some of the fakest cats within the Nep comunity itself (and from MY experience: None from the Himalayan Buddhists peeps as atleast these HB cats are blunt and will let you know the fact without donning a mask of an ear-to-ear smile that would be ready to stab once you turn your back). For most in the sajha communty, Encouragement on any stance seems to be a factor devoid in their equation that seems to be shrouded with negativity 24/7. Always waiting for another Nep to fugck up so that they could go and grab the headlines in someone else's misfortune. Damn, media whores!!

we should get into the root of the music before saying something.. there are lot of explanation before conclusion.. in the 80's as samsara said they made the music but the creations were limited.. they just stayed in the basic chords.. for now they have different stuffs gadgets and everything.. all the musicians they have their own talent.. they make music on their own.. during the creation of the music and hitting the scales if they resemble the po^No music from the past that doesn't mean they copied the music..
just for now there is the incident Joe and Coldplay.. they are extremely talented musicians.. one is guitar god and the other is Grammy winner.. when i heard the news about the plagarism thing going on.. i went to the youtube and check it.. it was kinda same.. but why would coldplay risk all the music career and Grammy's by taking the work of Guitar God.. and there is the teacher explaining the reasons for the their music why it sounded pretty same.. I liked it and concluded that they were both amazing musicians..

I totally agree with samsara.. the chord progessions in most of the oldies blues/rock numbers are same and they sound much similar.. you can listen to numbers by Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, BB King, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton & more; they have similar chord progessions, rythms and tempos.. even also in their own numbers, they have similar patterns ... I think these are the fundamentals of blues/rock music..
In case of Mukti and Revival, they have done lots of creative work with the song.. the riffs, blues licks and bass lines all sounds too original and one of their kind.. there might be some similarity with chord progression and melody (only the initial part of pakistani song sound similar), it can't be termed Plagiarism .. NO.. NO.. for me Mukit and Revival rocks !!! and they are talented and creative bunch of guys..
Regarding Joe Satriani / Coldplay.. I am the greatest fan of Joe Satriani.. I don't count Coldplay as a musicians.. period.

Its a sad thing that in music and in movies, when someone copies other's work its not called theft. They defend by telling its inspiration or they say not much can be changed with this type of tune or story etc. etc... All these reasons loudly say one thing -> Lack of creativity.
