Dear friends,

I am planning to visit nepal sometime this year. Is stamping on KTM safe? Some of my frens sugest me of going to canada or mexico for stamping. I recently lost my old passport which had F1 visa stamp on it. The new one I have does not have any stamps. I'm in big confusion as to what I should do. Please suggest and share your stamping experience. I would be very thankful. Thanks.

I don't see any problem while stamping H1B in Nepal if you are working for genuine company. If your pay is relatively low, or if you are working for consultancy then they might hold your visa for a while to interrogate about your job. If everything works fine , they'll approve your visa .. Good Luck

Hey Techguy
Congrats

Do we have to carry the previous years tax return form as well? Since I have been working on campus as well as off campus.

What about the company name? Should we have to specify both the consultancy name as well as the client name?

Thanks

Email the consulate office to get an appointment. They give you the interview the next day. Don't have to go to the bank. They don't ask many questions if you have a real job. You will be in and out.

Thanks ramriketi,

I carried w2 forms from my school and the company of 2007 . Dont know much abt consultancy. But i think they will ask u the name of the clients you've worked with. But the name of the company u r working for will always be the name of ur consultancy.

I'm not sure how true is Cowboys regarding the appointment, coz we need to pay USD 131 for the appointment. I tried to fix an appointment from US. But it can be done online in countries like Mexico, Canada and India , but was not available for Nepal. And also if you r working thru consultancy be sure to verify PIMS with nepal embassy or where ever u r planning to get the stamping before actually leaving US. I believe that can be done either thru email or a call.

Consulates must now verify your H-1B petition approval using the Petition Information Management Service (PIMS). A record of your petition and its approval is sent to the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) and entered into PIMS. The electronic PIMS record created by KCC is now the only form of evidence used to determine eligibility for an H-1B visa stamp. If for some reason the consulate is unable to located information on your H-1B petition, then the consulate must email the Kentucky Consular Center’s Fraud Prevention Unit, who will then research approval of your petition and, if able to confirm its approval, make the details available through PIMS within two working days.

Lemme know if u got questions.

hey Abhayshreshtha,

sorry it was Jan 7.

You got to fill ds-156 and ds -157 , You can fill up online but will have to submit the hardcopy. There are shops outside nabil who fills up the form for 150 Nrs. But i filled mine on my own, cost me 20 Nrs.

Here you will find the forms, fill it up and print it

The email address is ConsKtm@state.gov

Address it to the consulate officer. Tell them when you are going to Nepal and how you would like to set up an appointment for visa interview. Do not forget to mention that your status is H1B and you want to stamp it.
They should then ask you which day you wanna come and drop the documents. Tell them when and they will give you an interview date the very next day if not the same day.
I don't know anything about the PIMS though.
