Dear Sajha friends,

I graduated on May 2008 and I am on OPT (dhoti consultancy).I have applied some schools for Ph. D for fall 2009. If I get assistantship I will go to Ph.D. If I do not get assistantship I will like to extent my OPT (17 months) rather than filing H1. Meanwhile, I am applying for PR in Canada. If I get PR of Canada I will go to Canada because in this country always there will be status problem.

In my OPT extension, I would like to work some cash job until I get PR of Canada because I am totally broke. In 17 months  OPT do we have to pay taxes?

So guys which will be better filing H1 or OPT Extension?

I have doubt that I will get job in this tough economy condition.

Well ..OPT extension is not that easy either.....The Employer has to be E-verified and your field of study has to match your degree..
The best thing is to go to Graduate School.

i completely agree with puranakagaz. they asked for additional evidence since my company was not everified. and ur degree has to match with ur work also. its better to go to grad school if u already enjoyed ur year long OPT already. go for gradschool man.better luck with ur Phd.
