seen you bravery, seen your courageous, seen your determination, seen your loyalty, seen your skills but I wonder why and who you are fighting for ? fighting for bread or bravery? fighting for your country or the countries that are figthing your country? I personally believe if these brave men were fighting for their own country for 200 years nepal would be somehow better off. fighting for british and india for 200 years ? that is just unforgiveable. so, think before you join gurkha army how british and indian are treating you. I heard that the british government is deporting widow and children of yubraj rai ( who died fighting taliban in afghanistan) to nepal soon claiming that they have no right to settle down in britain. I believe british are the worst human right offender in that case. I wonder why these young men dont understand that british and indians are using them as a scarecrow?God knows the rest.

Georgian: Agreed these finest should serve motherland. Given corruption, jaat-discrimination, do you think they have a choice. Someone has to feed their family. Do they have choice. I think we should be proud of their service.

Being in the army, is a JOB. It's like working for a fortune 500 company in USA and getting a paycheck. Who are the bosses of these fortune 500 companies? Nepalis .... LOL. Most of the CEOs are white people so what are you trying to imply here? Don't you think companies in USA are also using you?

brother simple answer, for bread n butter. 200 years for sure but time also changes things, it is very much professional now since army is institution itself. it is true the injustice n unfair but legal battle is going on simultaneously n the verdicts r going on our favour. about thier responsibilites n duties towards motherland, time and again thier expereince n soldier professionalism has been used in various historic revolution of nepal. they r one of the major contributor of foreign remittances. since thier pensions r directly diposted in their accounts namely in standard chartered bank, thier physical absence doesnt affect the pension remittances being injected in nepal. gurkha welfare society has done n is still doing lots of social work around rural nepal. above all their families n many other related to them has been able to increase their living standard n provide quality educations to thier childrens. professionalism of gurkhas r not only used in british n india but in singapore as singapore police and in brunie as gurkha reserve unit (GRU) for sultan.

"gurkhas' professinalism lack pragmatism, gurkhas' bravery lack their own triumph, gurkhas' loyalty lack royalty" and we still have no cringe. the more triumph we are bringing for others the more hatred we are bringing home and still we have no cringe. look at the life we are living , look at the order we are following , look at the hate we are breeding and we still have no cringe of being a gurkha. there is no doubt that gurkhas are injecting large sum of foreign remittance to nepal in this regard I would like to express my profound gratitude to all gurkhas (including my father who served in british army for 16 years). after 200 years of discrimination, segregation, and ostracism against gurkha the time has come for us to say no no no to gurkha recruitment.the time has come for us to change our motto as "it is better to live as nepali rather than be a gurkha" instead of " it is better to die than to be coward". whatever our fathers have done for bloody british and india ..let bygone be bygone brothers. the truth has habit of revealing itself therefore the time will come that these blood suckers british and india will pay the price of our sacrifice.

Geo Sat...........your frustation is understandable, The Bravery and loyality of the Gurkhas is well known in Britain, they are one of the top elight fighting force in the world proven in time and time again. what the Gurkhas want when it matters is It all comes down to RESPECT, EQUALITY & HONOR after Discharge. there are many facts why Gurkhas still join the British Army and are ready to die for the country, You would'nt make such remarks if you lived in their state and reasons. 200 yrs of history cant just be turned down like you mentioned. Yes its unfair what the British Gov are doing to the vetrans and the soldiers serving now but they are many good people and Gurkha supporters in Britain and around the worldthat will stand by them and soon make History when british gov will grant their demands. They are already in big time preassure from every angle and they will bow down to the demonstrations because Gurkhas are brave warriors and will die untill fellow Gurkhas will be given the respect and honor they Deserve. I pray that they recieve all their demands and may God protect our Brothers in the front lines.

i totally understand ur saying brother n agree with u, being bhanja myself, my dad served for ninteen years in queens gurkha signal and retired as staff sergeant he never persuaded me to join the force but supported me in every possible way to get higher studies. it would not hav been this easy; financially, if he had not served in the gurkha. so, tides r turning too, they r making intellectual investment for thier next generations. i say it is an opportunity for many youths with exception of wat u hav mentioned. if it was possible to sustain a quality life in our country, hell no, no one would hav joind foreign army n fight war that means nothing to that individuals. but the things u hav mentioned, i hav solidarity brother. still they deserve respect.
