Only UML has able leadership, claims Khanal
Chairman of CPN (UML) Jhala Nath Khanal has claimed his is the only party
that can give able leadership to the country leading it throughthe right channel
during the transition period.
Speaking at a function in the capital on Friday, Khanal said the country has
been pushed to chaos and uncertainty due to lack of capable and far sighted
leadership, adding that increasing violence, instability and derailing political
consensus have sidelined the peace process, constitution making and development
activities.
UML has that leadership and caliber to channelise the transitional period and
lead the country to a new phase of development, he said.
In line with statement by Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala, he
accused the government for deviating from people’s mandate to draft new
constitution for the country and making the peace process a success.
Khanal added his party currently shoulders five major responsibilities –
writing a democratic constitution, successfully ending the peace process,
socio-economic changes in the country, strengthening national unity and
restructuring of the state.
Repeating his call for consensus among the political parties, Khanal alleged
parties have ignored their responsibility for promoting the culture of consensus
