If you are going back to the college and have a valid I-20 from the university, I think you are fine. You don't need to have another Visa. All you need to show in port of entry that you have a valid I-20 that is all what matters when you are in F1. This is my opinion. Good luck to you.

If you get a Valid I-20 and Signature from your International Student Advisor on the I-20 you are good to Travel. They may ask you few question at the port of entry tell them the truth you dont have anything to hide. Enjoy your time in Nepal...

I think, if you are changing the school, you need to apply for the visa. confirm with your international office.

Same condition here...bro My Opt is valid till October 1st 2009. If I take the I20 from my University which I am in right now for the jan 2010 session , Can I go to Nepal in this October and come back in December 2009. I have a valid visa till june 2011. After studying one semester in One University ..I transferred it to another University, does it make any problem, coz' in visa its showing first University name. your opinion is much appriciated..

Regarding this I contact to the International office and He says: >The regulations allow you to have a gap no longer than 5 months between >the ending of your last program of study (or OPT) and the beginning of >your next program of study. Between October and January there is less >than 5 months, so you should be fine. > >If you return to Nepal in October you would be able to travel back with >the F1 visa that you have (if it expires in 2011). You should be OK >traveling back, as long as you have an I-20 for your new program of >study.

If you are traveling in OPT you need a letter from your employer that you are working for them and were on vacation. But as you have mentioned you have graduated on may 2008 i guess you opt is about the expire.. Technically you don't need to get a visa as you are traveling in F1. but as you opt is about to expire you might have problem in immigration. Think about the option and talk to you student advisor.

Make sure U have ur valid I-20 with the advisor's signature of ur new college with u. Until then U will be fine, because some of my friends have also done that and they had no problem at all. The best person to discuss about all these is ur new international student advisor. Consulting few lawyers who offer free consultation is not a bad idea, but is unnecessary I guess. when u get ur I-20, I dont think employment letter or bla bla bla. is necessary, because the issue of a new I-20 automatically disables ur OPT. There is no big complication in ur situation, so take it easy and I wish U a safe and enjoyful trip to Motherland.
