Do you know, according to the big bang theory, Universe was created within 0.00000000000000001 sec.

within that time frame everything was created.. This sounds so unrealistic but Scientists have believe on it

One Question remains

"The viewable universe size( lets say length ) is more than billions of light years .. How it is possible that the universe was created within fraction of seconds ?

How about it continues to expand after big bang.

iphone,
I recommend you to read 'Brief history of time' by Stephen Hawking. It should answer all of your questions. It is a very well written book which everyone can understand. Most amazing thing is, Hawking explains these complex nature of Physics without using any equations. Read it - you will definitely love it.

thanks twanke

if you have read that book, can you put the light on the fact that "nothing can travel more than speed of light" , how is it possible to create the whole universe ( billions light years long) with in sec

For that matter or whatever it is has to travel more than ( at least million times faster than ) speed of light ..

???? how is that simply possible ?

and you are right Nightelf , Universe is expanding faster than speed of light ..

I did not say its faster than light, i just said it has been expanding after the initial bang (the fraction of second you mentioned).

I feel that most of us involved in this discussion are thinking that the whole universe, in its current form, was created in a fraction of a second, which certainly is an idea that beats human reasoning. As far as my understanding goes, the 0.00000000000000001 sec that IPHONE mentioned is the split second within which the big bang happened. Before the big bang, all the matter that is present in the universe was concentrated in a highly dense but incredibly small area (that's why the study of the big bang is closely related to the study of black holes). After the big bang, everything started to move apart and as a result the universe has been in a continuous phase of expansion since the big bang.

iphone,

As hard as it is to believe, but the universe is a beast of its own. Relativity only says that nothing in the universe can travel faster than the speed of light, but there is no known restriction on how fast can the universe expand.

"According to the theory of
inflation, the Universe grew by a factor of 10 to the sixtieth power in
less than 10 to the negative thirty seconds, so the "edges" of the
Universe were expanding away from each other faster than the speed of
light; however, as long as those edges can't see each other (which is
what we always assume), there is no physical law that forbids it. "

I phone said .......

 fact that
"nothing can travel more than speed of light"
====================================================================

Wrong.  RF signals in  waveguides travel much more faster than the speed of light.

those who feel small compared to universe, watch the above video.

Wondering if people in Sajha have insight on Quantum Physics and Conciousness?
