Isn't it Associate Degree in Nursing(ADN) vs BSc nursing. I'd choose BSc. Nursing!

Yes, you are right! But, these days Hospitals prefer an RN with BSc(I don't have a source here, but I was told by the adviser of one of the reputed universities). There is also an opportunity to get promotion at your workplace. You can go with ADN program, become an RN and work at the the hospitals or somewhere and at the same time go to university to complete BSc. Universities have special program for such nurses. It may take an year or 2, which depends on you!

rachana09, yeah that's true. one of my friends had three years diploma from Nepal and didn't give any credit. she evaluated her degree and gave US equivalent of only high school diploma. wtf?? so, she's planning to go and get associates degree first from community college and start working as RN. and while you working as RN, most of the universities have online program called RN-BSN which she believes, can be completed in as little as 18 months. i also think that this is the best path to get work experience as well as BSN degree. goodluck to you!

within colorado community colleges, advisor says that after u have done 1 yr prerequisite for RN u need to b in waiting list which is almost 1 or 2 yrs. is that fair to stay that long time in waiting list or is it different in different states?
