There are plenty of NON-CREDIT COURSES in Community College. You don't need anything beside driver license to enroll and affordable tuition fee. The cost maybe less than $200 per course and it's just once a week for two months.
This is what I did for my aunt who was in similar situation like you. If you can post your thread on Sajha and can read my comment, I believe you can do these two classes very easily.
Data Entry: The Key Typing- 1.30 min class, once a week, for two months. After completion you'll get a certificate from the Community College saying you have successfully passed. GREAT JOB!!! AT LEAST YOU HAVE ONE CERTIFICATION.
Practices of Health, Nutritions, and Physical Education ( title may not be the same) Same time and hours, easy, Again its easy and ANOTHER SECOND CERTIFICATION.
Now, my aunt works at the County Health Dept, Admin clerk position, printing license.you know small but Perfect for survive..and its only M-F.
There are lots of opportunities out there. Cheer up!!

there are plenty you can do, like: you can do some sort of security guard training; it pays off very good. even if you want to do GED, its not hard. you can take some free classes for preparation and go for it. i have seen some some naughty kids in america passing it, so im very sure you can make it. hope it helped. good luck.

It is not for you but your are trying to help somebody, is that right? I can see it. Having a GED will give you broad horizon and better opportunities too. It is not that hard as you are thinking. Visit your local vocational schools and technical school or college, they provide adult classes focusing on hands on job training programs like Plumbing, Refrigeration, electricity coding, Landscaping, cooking, auto mechanic, dental aide, dental hygienist, medical aid/helper, radiologist, Medical billing and coding etc. Check with Red Cross, they may have CNA ( certified nursing aide) training will lead to you elderly care job as well may lead to LPN to RN? Needed CPR and First Aid and some early childhood course training for child care or baby sitting job. As every body knows over 85% of the job is hired through the networking. Try to built a network, do not hesitate to ask if they know anybody hiring. You must put away your hesitant otherwise you will be going no where and getting nothing. Good luck

@Syanjali, I believe she has two kids and looking for an opportunities FOR HERSELF in a field where her high school education is enough to pursue.
@Gorkhali_Kancha: "Security Guard"? Your job suggestion is same as your name. Have you seen "Kali" security guard in the mall? Once they sit on you, you'll be nowhere to be found. And at night duty, you won't even see them in the dark. Now, you tell me how it'll be perfect job for a Nepali woman.
@Maya_Mero: Please Read my first comment carefully as many times as you can, you'll find the name of those two classes.

@ sexy in sari, by the way i didn't know the original writer is female, suggestions could have been different. if so, then would be good for her to do something like medical assistant training.
