hey unknown guy, if you can come up with a good business plan.. i will also put some money as a shareholder to form a partnership - we share profit in proportion to our donated capital... but remember u need to come up with a valid plan to make me interested

invest all at once in online shopping...sell it in auction...do the samething over and over

Nepali new year is coming .. if anybody is organizing party in your  area or something like that then u can sell some nepalese  food items like ,momo, choila etc...  jus let me know where r u. if you are in some university that is in village .. u can sell funny t-shirts as well( funny t-shirts like those printed one .. saying funny things)..

The good way of doing business for $ 500 is buying things online for cheap when there is huge sell, then selling it off in Craig's list or ebay or amazon.
I've sold lots of stuffs like that, from printers, cellphones, gps, to Windows vista disc, and many many more, in most of the transaction I made 100 percent profit. Ebay and amazon charges like 10 - 15 percent commission, so craig's list is a good place to put your ad.
however you do need patience and also you can't really depend on this as your primary source of income, this is just as a side job kinda thing.

All this dude is trying to do is get a reaction out of everyone.I'm sure he's sitting somewhere having a good laugh.We should not encourage him!Oh snap,HE GOT A REACTION OUT OF ME TOO!lol.

i don't know about buying and selling, but in the computer world and if you have skill, u can do it.

 buying domain is a great idea which i already have couple.

 One main thing here is not only that i am trying to start something with my $500, its more like spreading the ideas within the community so others might even benefit by it.

500 ma ! buying stuffs when they are cheap and selling back when price increases, on seasonal items ! would be a good business ,,tara 500 is too less find 10 more people like you who want to invest 500 so it will be a coroprate (so to say) and with 5000 you can to a lot more ,,on that buying and selling ..

i don't have a good suggestion for u to start a business with just $500....but how about investing in index funds....its a relatively less risky way of making some money
