NOW MAOISTS WANTS TO CHANGE OUR FLAG?????

The
Nepali Congress summarily rejected the Unified Maoists' Party strange
proposal to the increase number of rays in the crescent Moon and Sun in
the National flag.

This somewhat puzzling proposal came at a meeting of High Level Task Force (HLTF), December 9, 2010.

As
per the Maoist's proposal, number of rays in the crescent moon-in the
upper part, should be increased from 8 to 12 and the rays in the Sun in
the lower part of the flag that consists of 12 rays should also be increased.

As per the Interim Constitution of Nepal, "the
National flag of Nepal, consists of two juxtaposed triangular figures
with a crimson colored base and deep blue borders, there being a white
emblem of the crescent moon with eight rays visible out of sixteen in
the upper part and a white emblem of a twelve rayed sun in the lower
part".

Reports
quote Dev Gurung of Unified Maoists' Party as saying during the
meeting, "The flag needs change in its color, shape and size as it was
set when the country was a unitary one".

Analysts presume that one fine morning the Maoists may also demand a change in the name of Nepal.

Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda of Unified
Maoists' Party threatened that his party will convert the entire Nepal Universities
and Colleges into Barracks and Students into Military forces if the reactionary
elements do not stop conspiring against the revolutionary changes gained in the
recent years.

He made the threat loaded statement at the inaugural session
of General Convention of All Nepal National Independent Student
Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-Revolutionary), December 10, 2010.

The
ANNISU-Revolutionary is the student wing of the Unified Maoists' Party.

"In order
to achieve the successful completion of the revolution", said Dahal,
"We need the support of the students once again".

The General
Convention of the students is being held at the Tribhuwan University premises
in Kirtipur, Kathmandu.

"If you do
not come forward militarily, we cannot bring an end to the revolution we are
carrying out", he continued.

"I would
want you to remain in a prepared state", he told the students.

Prachanda's
fresh call has created panic among the liberal and the democrats which may
hasten the process of the formation of a broader democratic alliance as is
being suggested by Surya Bahadur Thapa.

The
Nepali Congress leaders have thus opened their tirade against the members of
former Royal Family…not at all unexpected.

Sujata
Koirala-the deputy prime minister and foreign minister, demanded a government raid at Nirmal Niwas
to confiscate illegal weapons possessed by members of the former royal family.

Nirmal
Niwas located in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, is the personal residence of Nepal’s
last King Gyanendra Shah.

Not
only Sujata demanded immediate investigation into the alleged killing of signer
Prabin Gurung, by the former crown prince when he was the heir to the throne
but she also suspected that Paras could kill some more if he was allowed to
roam free carrying weapons.

A
day earlier, another Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula had demanded
from the government to curtail the security arrangements of the former royals including
now sidelined King Gyanendra Shah.

Sujata
made this high voltage remark in Malangawa December 21, 2010 while addressing a
press conference organized by Press Union-a Nepali Congress affiliate.

“The
person who had killed common men in the past could still go on a rampage any
time in the future…he is still in the same mood…guess how many people he would
have killed in the past”,  questioned
Sujata.

The
Prime Minister and Home Minister should immediately come into action and seize weapons
from the former royals, she also demanded.

“They
will continue to attack us (Koirala family implied) because the republican
order has been established in the country under the direct leadership of my
father late Girija babu,” Sujata continued.

Such
incidents have taken place in the past also, she said while referring to the
Tiger Tops incident and said, we can trust none in the country.

The
Nepal DPM very skillfully did not talk on the “illicit” activities being
carried out by her son-in-law, Ruwel Choudhary, a Bangladeshi national. Blood
is thicker than water.

How
the former royalty will react to the Koirala tirade will have to be watched?
