you have to have the original birth certificate and its english translation from the babarmahal translation office. for affidavit support document you dont need your certificate.u have to summit your original nepal police report,birth certificate in nepali and english, two 2*2 photos only in another form ds 230.

U can make those docs from local government office or some person in authority like Section officer and above and they can attest that u were born in so and so date and so and so place.Write in english and send the original to USCIS.Keep photo copy for ur records for references.Hope that helps.Seems u have tried from local municipality why don't u ask CDO office to make one more and also try resending the same too.

Does anyone know if the affidavits can be made from the wada office in kathmandu? or does it have to be other government offices?

I submitted my birth certificate in the form of a letter in municipal letter head signed by municipal officer. Is this going to be an issue?

I had birth cert from municipality. But, my attorney said that format wont be accepted by USCIS and i might get RFE. So, I had submitted affidavits from my parents as well as birth certificates

@ Sajha keto Which office did your parents go to make affidavits?

@Stam you can simply type it yourself and get it notarized from whoever is authorized to notarize. When I did mine I simply typed up affidavits from the template found on internet for my mom and dad, emailed them, they printed it, got it notarized and mailed them back to be. Took about a week and half from sending them to getting the affidavit back.

I did submit the same format birth certificate letter from Municipality. So I should expect RFE any time now? Mine is I-485, I-765,I-131 RD-October 26,2016. No FP or EAD received yet? Did you guys go through NSC?

My attorney had given template for affadavit but I thought municipality letter should be good enough. Let's wait and see what happens.

If you get RFE on I485, how long does the process get extended by normally? I hoped to get over I485 quickly and now I am afraid of RFE; I feel like I get RFE for everything. Crossing my fingers.
