If your purpose is just to take family pictures and event photographs, it looks ok other than it is refurbished. But if you are photography student and planning to extend your carrier in photography and arts (which you didn't mention), you should consider something else.
I will consider camera inside link below in any case.

i have used sony alpha and i think its a pretty decent camera for beginners... but you can get a new one if you add 30 more bucks so i would recommend getting a new one rather than a refurb for 300 . best of luck with photography
