Hi folks,
Need your help.
Is it ok to buy a used car with " Damage reported after accident or incident" in carfax. As per carfax the accident or incident happend just after a yr it was bought brandnew in 2006, But does not provide any other details as what really happened and deler doesn't have any idea either. Car looks and runs great, but I was/ am very skeptical to buy a car with damage reported in carfax.
Thx for the help.

You will be driving your late model car with fear everyday if u buy it. Couple thousand dollars is not a big money if you are financing, just extra 33 dollars a month. You can't fully trust on air bags n seat belts with such car, so don't buy it. If interest is more than 5% better buy brand new.

In any car fax report they do not provide what kind of accident and the depth of damage is not provided and not available. If you are buying it from a dealer and guessing he is not going to sell for less. I mean he will be asking the same price as other car with good car fax report. So better to buy one without known problems as furke said. While investing about 7-8 grand, if I were you , would not go with this one.
If you are interested that much and think a heck of a good deal, you can drive to an autobody repair shop to get their professional advise. Usually they will charge about an hour and up labor cost.
Good luck

Thx Furke and MaGorkhali.
It makes sense what you are saying, and I would have paid 15-20K for the car. I have decided not to buy the car, and look for better ones. Thx a lot.
OK now another question for you guys.
Which one is better option between Audi A6 and Lexus IS 250 AWD.
Since I m in midwest I love Audi for winter. But it costs more for the repair and maintenance, and it is said to have reliability issue which I didn't have in 01 A6 for 4 yrs. Also, it drinks more gas since it is 3.2 quattro.
Lexus looks tight, but crampy at back. Not good as much as Audi in winter even with AWD. Very reliable and low maintenance cost. But the one im looking at is 08 so expensive than what Im lookin for Audi 05-06.
Appreciate your help!!!!

Check out BMW dude, excellent for winter or infinity for less. Audi sucks mechanically, Lexus not good torque.

BMW has good program, $0 maintenance. You don't even pay for oil change.
