If you don't have degree in Computer Science or Information Science, your best option is QA.
All it requires is just a 6 week training with heavily worded resume with some FAT experiences.
If you need more info, ask any Indian wives.

SAP....but difficult to get graduate job. But if you do, definately great career and great pay.
Also based on your background, you need to decide which module of SAP you want to go into. There are different modules...like FICO (Accounting), Basis (technical), ABAP (programming), Sales and Distribution and so forth.
All the best.

Before you jump start you career in IT, it is utterly important for you to choose what you like about IT. IT is a Vague disciple with cross discipline functionality such as from computer science, Information systems, computer engineering. While you don’t need a formal education to be an IT guru unlike other fields, it is highly recommended to get a degree noticeably a bachelor or masters with certification.

In my opinion the field of Information Technology is divided into three parts :

1) Programming
2) Database Management and Administration
3) Computer Networking

In today’s world programming and database go hand in hand. To be a good programmer you should have a good understanding of database technology and vice versa.

Keeping things honest here, you should really go into Networking. Networking is the unsung hero of the computer world. Without Networking, things we take for granted such as website, email, instant messaging would not have been possible.

There are Lots of certifications available such as from Microsoft, Cisco, Linux to be Network Certified. And I am sure you have heard about the “Cloud ".

There are other emerging fields that has enabled to get a lot of hype, and with  continuous Growth such as SOA (Service oriented Architecture, ERP systems etc).

So Long thing short.....choose one of the described above, and Master it !

Zindabaad ji,
For someone from accounting field, SAP FICO or other financial software can be good as it gives you competative advantage over other candiates who may be from pure technical field. Personally, I do not recomment you to go to areas like networking as you will lose your base of accounting and you will find difficult to compete with highly technical people in this field, especially since you will be new to the field.

There are many consulting firms which provide trainings in SAP but be careful that most of them claim to provide you job after training  but will not so at the end. So do confirm with them throughly. These days you can do SAP training in Nepal as well which might be cheaper. So if you are planning holiday in Nepal, this can be an option. check www.bos.com.np. I heard this is good but I do not personally know it.

There is also SAP Nepali group in Sajha. May be you can check it

Hope this helps.
