Hi All,

InfoTech contacted me via my university's international office.

We had 2 hr chat and I came to the following conclusion -

1. It could be trusted given his email came through above office.
2. The person is from south India - better than norhtern biharis and gujjus.
3. The training is free and would not take their cuts from my salary and job placement is 100% guaranteed.

If anyone know about this company or has been contacted, please share your views and opinions and even your experience.

G

When they apply for grants or projects, they add overhead costs (typical in academic proposals) - this is how they make their money.

However, I have to sign a contract with them which is no biggie for me if I am getting my salary.

I am sorry , is this a dhoti consultancy? What kind of grants? Indian consultancies generally don't get grants from govt. Most consulatncies are run by south indians. Also ask them if they are going to pay u in bench period?

Thanks kalopani.

You provided good points - I will keep them in mind and will ask him in the next meeting. By project, he said they bring projects and we work on them. And when they apply for such projects, they calculate costs. He said, if I get a 60 K job then I will get that money not a penny less nor more.

What is a bench period though? Do you mean the contract period?

Thanks again.

bench period: when you don't have a project to work for but uscis wants u to get paid during that period while dhotis don't want to pay. also, most companies pay 90+ for the consultants, if he's paying you 60K then he's already taking his cut from your pay. but u can't really complain about that cuz thats the whole point of consultancy. I say, try to find a job on your own first, if nothing works out then go for consultancies. also if you know someone from your school or someone u know personally who have worked through consultancies, call them , looks like you're naive in this area and these dhotis are playing this game for long time.
