Are there Nepalese students at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan? I am starting class from fall 2011. I am a new student and need your help.

Ma Wayne ma ta hoina but pretty close ma chhu Oakland University. Tara sabai wayne ma padhne haru ni najik same apartment ma baschhau. But we live in 16 miles away from the University. By the way if you do not have car then you need to stay in Detroit.What type of help you are expecting please let me know.

 Thank you sparty and KhaliCC for your response. I will be there by the mid of August and I need help in finding the apartments. How abt university housing? more expensive than apartments?I need to be in safe area and have a car to drive to university.

The rent in the university housing and off campus is almost same. But if you live in housing then you are living in the proper Detroit. If you live in detroit you must be in your apartment by early evening. You know what I mean. I do not want to scare you but more than 90 percent of the Nepali students  live 15, 16 miles away from detroit which is very safe to live. If you have car then you will be fine to stay lil farther from detroit. It is upto you. What is your major? Are you TA/RA? Master/Ph.D? Just fell free if you need further info.

 You can find more people around shelby township or around canton area. Canton might be far for you, if you are going to Wayne State area. Why dont you live in Dearborn area, where its safe and 10 minutes ride to Wayne state.

Dearborn is expensive compared to other cities near detroit. 

 Thank you Nagious and KhaliCC, BTW are you Wayne student? I am planning for PHD program in Engineering. I will be glad and delighted if you guys help me to find some Wayne Engineering PhD student.

I am also a new student at Wayne State, joining for the PhD in Communication Studies from fall 2011. I was wondering if there are any female students from Wayne State who are looking for a roommate. Please let me know if there is anyone I can contact regarding this.
