It is 50 lbs luggage and 22 lbs hand carry per person. You have to pay for extras.
BTW when are you leaving?

My Parents flew from IAD to KTM from VA yesterday. I went there to help them to check bag in. It was two check-in bag per person (55LBS max per bag) and 1 carry in (13 LBS max) per person. They said its usually 2 bag per person but sometimes it depends on ticket. I think if your destination is Nepal, you will be allowed to have 2 check-in bag per person.

However plz do not take this information as official as it might differ from airport to airport or transit.

BTW your transit and my parents transit are same except flight originating airport.

Hope it helps.

I am also flying thru virgin atlantic: London Heathrow - Bahrain - Kathmandu round trip
the luggage allowances are:

1 check-in baggage: 50 lbs
1 carry on: usual carry on size (14-15 lbs)
1 personal bag (like laptop bag)

Need to pay for any extra baggage.

Just curious, seeing question after similar questions.
Aren't these questions best answered by just a quick call to the company itself?

On the way from the US, your first flight leg will be with Virgin Atlantic, therefore, you will be allowed only one check-in and one carry-on.  But on the way back, your first leg will be with Gulf, so you will get 2 check-ins and 1 carry-on.
