Talked to my family for hours today. Its festival time in Nepal, and this is the fifth Dashain I have been away from home. Festivals are more meaningful when you are together with your family. My family miss me so much during these festivals, they perhaps miss me more every year - it makes me miss them even more. :(

How long have you been away from home ? What do you guys miss the most about Dashain? Does the fact that your family miss you more during these times make you feel even worse?

Whenever I see this kind of post I am always sad, akaha maa aasu sangalina thalchan :'(

It's been almost 3 years I am here in the US. This is my 3 Dashain that I am far from my family. I have never been out from my home, from my parents not even for like 15-20 days and u can imagine how m spending this 3 yeta without them.
Dashain, it cms and always give tears to my eyes. Ghar maa kura huncha dashain maa guff hanchu, yesto ramailo cha yaa mom, buwa, Nepal maa jastai huncha bhanchu, haschu tara kura Garda akha bata aasu bageko thaa huna chai dinna...
Sabai nai miss huncha, everything, blessings, love, playing cards, and also dakshina...
Yestai ho kura gare kurai Ko dukkha bhanya jasto...

@_Nas : I m in the same situation too. I miss my mom a lot. I know its a festival time, and it reminds me of how we used to celebrate and laugh on jokes...I can still remember my mom's tears when I was leaving the airport. But at the same time I enjoy how she used to love me, hug me and wait me everytime after school. But now who waits for me??? no one right. But Im living with a dream of becoming a great girl with good future and good heart coz she is desperate to see me in that place. I miss my little sister and brother. We used to fight a lot but they always admire me and make me their role model to get away with all those obstacles and be the one with good heart.
                    Aww.... Dont worry...everyone is in the same situation. Don feel worse and enjoy as much as u can( who knows abt tomorrow). Make u and ur family proud. We are here for u...

.... Any way, for me, its been almost 6 yrs but haven't got time to celebrate dashain yet. Bzz with colleges N work.. But this time, I am here with my childhood friends and nothing to do except searching for job.... So, definately I am hoping this dashain would be much more fun.... I miss nepal specially dashain N thiar... tara aaba chai aghai 3-4 yrs miss hola jasto cha....
Any way i always hope for bst... Dashain ko suvakamana sabai lai...
