Please spread the news among your tourist american and other international friends to boycott domestic nepalese flights. Never even think of flying Sita air . Sita air should be court martialed in the international aviation market.

you ar right. establishing a new company is not difficult process in Nepal as well as here. the same way Indian consultancies change their names after getting blacklisted; Nepalese companies change names but start with the same assets and management.
Boycott Sita today and in next few months they will change the name of the company and paint the planes in new livery and start operations. they might even sell their assets and equipment to other companies and the new company will run under a new name with old equipments and the circus goes on.
some of the old planes and helicopters are still running in Nepal from previous defunct airlines.

Being a pilot myself and now studying to get my commercial pilot license in the U.S.A The airworthiness of an airplane must be checked every time before take-offs apart from regular maintenance every 100hrs or so. Unfortunately, it does not happen in a my country Nepal.
Where it's costing me a complete 4 years course, 1500 hrs and a Second Class Medical Certificate at the least and hundred of thousands of dollars, countries like Philippines, Russia and S. Africa offer a commercial pilot license within a year or so, and thats where most of the pilots in Nepal get the training from. I don't want to under estimate the training they got in those countries, but to get a commercial license in about a year and then be flying a passenger plane sounds little fishy to me.
I have had friends in Nepal Aviation Industry where they tell me that I should do the same but I won't. I'll take my time and get a proper FAA ratings hoping that someday I can bring in a little bit of change in the industry.
I read an article about a Cessna Caravan crashing during take-off in the western part of Nepal. The Cause, the pilots took-off with full flaps and the plane stalled during take off. How's that possible? It makes me think.
As for my government of Nepal, politics aside, strict the Aviation Industry. Impose restrictions on the Pvt Ltd Airlines companies running fleets of birds that are not air-worthy anymore. Its better to have less safer planes than to have too many that they fall from the sky every month or so.
I know how difficult this must be. My Heartfelt Condolences to the victims and their families. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. May God bless you and your family during this time and always.
Aviator.

Does anyone knows what part of the aircraft was bird striked? I'm not sure but since it's being a turboprop engine, there is less chance of bird ingestion on engine and prop can easily chop off the bird (being running in such high RPM) before it even enters the engine.
There is also rumour about the plane being grounded previous night because of unairworthiness to fly and despite they flew the plane next morning which is very shady. If this is true, the airline must be prosecuted.
A very high commision such as NTSB must be implemented too in this case coz we have been hearing these similar kind of incidents almost every year in Nepal and government of Nepal (CAANepal) doesn't seem like to be too worried about Human Safety in Airline industry.
RIP

I believe the aircraft must have lost one of its engine and the pilot's weren't able to achieve zero side slip with one engine inoperative. Hence, the plane made a sharp turn increasing the bank angle towards the non-operative engine and lost all of its lift and stalled, which brought down the aircraft only 500 m (AGL) above ground level.
When aircrafts like Dornier twin loses an engine, it loses 80% of its climb performance, due to the increased drag and decrease in excess power required for a climb.
The pilot's main concern here would be is what is called asymmetries. Because each engine on either side of the plane would be providing equal thrust (therefore pulling the aircraft in a straight line), the loss of propulsion on one side may cause the aircraft to yaw in that direction. While not a catastrophic thing, the pilot does need to act upon it with opposite rudder to keep the plane flying relatively straight.

So, is there any updates from the Sita air plane crash? History shows the truth will never come out. Innocent travelers life at stake again!!
Any real man out there? Any real investigative journalist out there (of course not a nepali)? For someone with b*lls, interested in investigative journalism and making documentries can actually embark on making a project to reveal the naked truth about Nepal airlines corporation, TIA and privately owned commercial nepalese airplanes to create some international pressure. They should either meet the international aviation standards or just perish!!!

aviation bro, there has to be some underlying reason for the carsh. as you mentioned, the bird would have been chopped into pieces and people are also speculating that the aircraft may have been carrying more load than the limit. if the aircarft was overloaded, as soon as the engine failed it must have spun out of control.
NTSB would most likely not be a part of this investigation since there is only 1 American fatality but i wish they would take part. i heard that a British team is confirmed and Chinese investigation team is deciding whether to join the team in Nepal.
i do not know how the aviation training works in Nepal but I sure do hope that pilots are recurrent on their aircarft and have recurring training upto par.
Heres another instance when a bird is sucked into a jet engine on take off. The plane takes off with one operational engine and lands safely.

Biwash sathi,
That’s the very good point you came up with. It could be MTOW( Max takeoff weight) issue too being Dornier 228s MTOW is just 5700-6200 which is not a whole lot. Really not much info on its engine either (Garrett TPE 331-5-252D). I have seen engine like Pratt & Whitney’s PT6 (turboprop) that got filter on inlet duct so bird ingestion wouldn’t be possible. At this point, I speculate one engine failure due to bird strike and pilot couldn’t regain control being flying in very low altitude. Just my two cents.
