i think American international policy and Ferguson issues are two different things.
Surely America needs to revise it's international policy but things that happened in Ferguson needs to be seen from the point of view of cop who happened to be "white" and the person who died happened to be "black" with questionable background.
From what i see in modern day America, whites have relaxed a bit on racism whereas blacks are still cashing out the suppression issues but not all blacks are doing it.Those who moved forward from 60s mentality are doing very good.
If this is about "innocent" person getting killed at the hands of a cop then probably there are 100s of other cases that needs international media attention.
If this is about white killing black issue then statistically blacks are killings blacks more than whites killing black.Everyday in big cities number of people die because of gang violence and most of them goes unnoticed.
i was reading this other blog yesterday where it listed out number of innocent white people getting killed by a black person.

200 plus pound guy who just stole from a nearby store hits a police officer and tries to take his gun. That person more likely than not will be shot. He can be a black , white or brown guy it won't matter.
Fact that grand jury did not return the indictment shows how weak the case was against the officer. autopsy as well as witness accounts proved that he was not shot while his hands were up and he obviously was not shot from behind.
Protestors are destroying other people's properties , businesses etc including the church Brown's family used to attend. Why do the business's have to suffer just because they happen to be in ferguson??? State should do everything possible to defend properties. Protests should be peaceful. Protests should focus on changing system. May be laws related to use of force by police need to change etc.
Media and politicians from the beginning made it look like a white police officer shot a little black innocent unarmed kid who had his hands up to surrender which obviously was a false narrative and now people are surprised grand jury did not indict.

GeetmaiJawafDiu is completely right. These american cops are bunch of dumb pussies. When they enroll to be a cop they know there will be situations where their lives will be in danger. But then when they see a guy bigger than them or are confronted with a situation where they will have to use their head to come to a better conclusion, they take the easy way out and resort to their guns. Pulling out guns should be the last option. What's the purpose of batons then? And why did the cop have to shoot 6 times? Couldn't he have shot on the legs?
