People amuse me. Normally people go to zoo, sanctuary or circus to find amusing things but I like to differ. Everyday you meet people who look normal but behave strangely. I am normally non judgemental with most of the people but some people just push my buttons sooo hard that I go BAZOOOKKK!!!! I encounter with some real strange people every now and then. Here is just 2 stories which I want to call a sample testing LOL. I know this guy for almost 4 years. He is utterly handsome, articulate, amazing sense of humor and married (not a surprise :P). I think he is open minded and modern too. I think he is one guy who I always looked up for his work and working in a smart way. He is a go getter and his marketing skills just wowed me. For once, when he said he is looking for a manager for his company I thought of joining.( thank god I didnt....you will know what I am saying this). So last year, he has been posting a lot of pictures about his preggy wife. I can understand the excitement
when you been married for so long and finally you succeed ( no offense to his manhood...I know I can be mean at times...most of the times....sometimes deliberately). It was fun watching the changes and the excitement in the family. I was really happy for the wife, who always talked about kids and starting a family. One Friday night, I meet him in one of a trashy events which has amazing promotions ( yeap been fooled). Our conversation went like this. Him:- Hey! Been a while I have seen you...not active on facebook thesedays. Me:- Nah just keeping low profile. But you are ruling the media with all the pictures....btw congratulations. Happy for you....when is the due date??? Him:- Its December, we are going to Singapore by the end of November. Me:- Why Singapore, is there a lot of complications?? Him:- No no not at all, but I just want my “boy” to be in very safe hands. Me:- Oh already did your sonography? (by this time my judgement button is half pressed)
Him:- No we havent but I know it is a boy. Me:- How are you so sure it is a boy, just a gut feeling or you actually want a boy? Him:- It will be nice if its a boy. Me: OMG really....what will you do if it is a girl? (by this time I think he realised what he has told me is not going to be in his favor) Him:- No no I didnt mean I wont love her, I have a gut feeling it is a boy. Me:- oh okkk best of luck. ( lost my patience to be with such a prick and walked away with my drink). Mark Twain said "Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience." So I quietly moved away!!!....I was disappointed that such amazing personality was filled with stinky narrow mentality. I can understand that ignorance is a reason for such mentality but what is the explanation for such person?? ( Anyway in December, he is blessed with a beautiful daughter and God said “Khaye kha nabhaye ghicch”....Now his facebook is filled with how much he loves her and blessed and blah blah....PRICK). I completely forgot about this incident, until I met his twins. Seriously I am stumped! Another very well educated, drop dead handsome ( what is with the guys with goodlooks....now now....girls you be careful where you gonna go with the looks), articulate and works in social sector even if he is a public
figure. Another Friday night out.....another party and another conversation. I said if given a choice I would sponsor girl child and without a second thought I would like to adopt a girl. “ what about your husband's legacy?” I was like the daughter will cry on the legacy. He was very strong with his opinion that it is a boy who carries the legacy coz girls will get married and go to another clan and she will bear a child for that family only which is different blood. I said what if a girl doesnt get married and stay with her
family and continue the so called legacy, his reply stunned me “the bloodline will end with her, unless the guy is a “gharjuwai” then again it will be his blood who will continue the bequest so its gonna be messed up”. My expression was exactly of Miss Columbia after Steve Harvey said he made a mistake. Such good personality and such stinky attitude. My whole buzz after drinking turned so nasty I left earlier than I expected. My conclusion:- People who have seen the world, had learn things and interacted with different people and with this mentality is more dangerous that ignorance people who are “kuwako bhyaguta”. I think we can change the mentality of people who dont have mentality at all than such assholes who claim to be
cool but have such strong orthodox opinions. These are the people who
proclaim that they are fighting for a change in the society. Sigh!! I am totally espeechless!!!

"These are the people who proclaim that they are fighting for a change in the society" They see defects on other and want to change. It will be a good start if people fight to change him/herself first.

Magorkhale1, It is OK if you see defects on others and change urself but worse is that you dont see any defects in you and your opinions are soo engraved that you think it is RIGHT and only RIGHT....that is disappointing when it comes from people who have so much exposure! :(

Nice one Amby……feels pity to see/hear superstition and narrow-minded-ness in so-called educated family/people……...yes, it’s there but I believe it is changing too ……parent’s property should not directly to their sons…..

@Ambrosia: In modern societies, an individual's family membership descends through the male line. But archaeological and anthropological evidence suggests that in the past, many more societies were matrilineal where kinship was based on the mother or the female line.
In the sub-Saharan African hunter-gatherers society, the husband left his clan and went to live with the clan and family of his wife, laboring for her or with her in the service of her parents.
Most theorists suggest that father's lineage was instituted by men(drop-dead handsome and articulate if you will) overthrowing matrilineal culture. On a positive note, the feminist movement has brought symbolic reforms on issues ranging from reproductive to property rights.
How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes! ~ Maya Angelou

SP1 the new law says, the parents has the full right to decide who they want to give their property to but in the case if they have not decided before hand ( say before they die) legally....then the son has an upper hands.

c864916 first of all I would like to say that you have the most unique nick :) thank you so much for the insight on the matriarchal societies that were there in the history. I think in certain small villages in Nepal also such cultures are still practiced. Again I am trying to say that I am not saying women are superior....in certain ways men are superior and in other things women are....that is why " ek raath ko dui paiya" equality and balance is the key to such things but few people ( not only men but women too) need to understand that they are not superior.

I am a well educated, professional, beautiful, smart female who lives in the most developed country and city of the world; and i believe in equality, not superiority of feminism and i love baby boys and want to have son. It is my freedom for my personal choice. and my guy wants a baby girl. Even if he wants a son, instead of criticizing and judging his personal preference, I would respect his freedom of choice. I accept male and female talking, chatting, speaking, chanting about sexism as hypocrites

Yeah I believe it's a matter of preference too. Girls prefer to get girls and boys prefer boys and most likely it's because they would be better at raising someone their own sex because they have had practice all their life. It does not mean they will be a bad parent or they will discriminate if another sex child is born.

Hi Everyone, I guess it is my weakness that I couldnt express the exact feeling with which they have expressed their opinion.....Yes I believe in equality and I totally agree on the part that it is a personal preference who to choose and who not to.... But my point is such educated people demeaning the opposite sex is what shocked me. Ok I can give a benefit of doubt to the first guy for preference of choice.....but tell me something about the second guy who constantly making it look like having a girl child is a curse for the family!
