I applied for TPS on November 2nd, 2016 and my application is till pending. USCIS asked for additional documents on Feb 28, 2017. All supporting documents were submitted on 11th March 2017. There has been no update after that.

Is there anybody else left whose TPS application is still in pending status?

I have the similar situation, both TPS and EAD are still pending (applied in November 8). got my case transferred twice from VSC to Dallas and Dallas to NSC. I made a call to USCIS and make a service request but nothing is happening.

Additional documents for not filing during the initial registration period. This is what they have mentioned in the website and I received the same thing in mail.

To qualify to file your initial TPS application late, you must meet at least one of the late initial filing conditions below:

During either the initial registration period of your country’s designation or during any subsequent initial registration period if your country was re-designated you met one of the following conditions, and you register while the condition still exists or within a 60-day period immediately following the expiration or termination of such condition
You were a nonimmigrant, were granted voluntary departure status, or any relief from removal
You had an application for change of status, adjustment of status, asylum, voluntary departure, or any relief from removal which was pending or subject to further review or appeal
You were a parolee or had a pending request for re-parole
You are a spouse of an individual who is currently eligible for TPS

Hi Manish,
Do you know if you had a change of status during last TPS period, are you still eligible for tps-extention ? because I had change of status last year after TPS was assigned. I applied for extension, but no response from USCIS.

Thanks

Not sure what is happening with my TPS application. I called USCIS but the agent was not able to help me other than creating a service ticket. It has been almost a month the service ticket was created and my application is still pending.

Is there anything that I can do to expedite my application? Anybody else facing the same issues?

@Amrit, I requested for case assistance to Ombudsman and I think you should do the same. Here is the link for case assistance.
https://www.dhs.gov/case-assistance

Also if possible try to contact your local senator and they will also help you with the pending case since most of them have services to help with a federal agency. If you are in Texas her is the link and do not forget to send the privacy release form(you can find one in the website)

I contacted ombudsman office last week. They opened a request and said some officer will take a look at my application. Hopefully, this will do the magic and my application will be approved soon.

Hey Captain B and Amrit,

Few questions for clarification while requesting to Ombudsman;

https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/publications/requirements-and-tips-on-filing-a-case-submission-request_0_0.pdf

1. The link above says, to apply through ombudsman case has to be 60 days past USCIS’s posted processing times for the relevant form and USCIS office. My case is at Nebraska service center and they do not have the processing time for I-821. I applied for TPS on Dec,2016 and for EAD on May 2017. Do I qualify to request to ombudsman?

2. Does ombudsman has any service fee? Also, will it impact the decision, if application already has many expedite and service request?

Your help is much appreciated.

Thank You :)

Yes your case is qualified for service request to ombudsman, usually the processing time frame for I-821 is no more than 3 or 6 month. Since you had applied on December 2016, it is already past due. There is no any fees and will not impact on your case decision. they are only there to help to the cases like yours.

Thank You Captain B for immediate response :)

So what about the I-765? Its over 90 days (The normal processing time) but its not past due 60 days but as like so many others I-765 is so much needed than I-821. Should I do it?

I would suggest you to apply for service request for both I-821 and I-765. Since both of your cases are past due. if you want to wait for I-765 service request, you can but remember the more you wait, the more late they will help you.

you have two option now
1. make service request now and get your EAD as soon as possible with in 60 days from now
2. Wait 3 month processing + 2 month(60 days from USCIS posted time) and get your EAD within 60 days from the date service request made.

If this help you good luck bro.
