Hey guys, this morning as i checked my emails in hotmail, i got shocked ... u know why , coz my email storage capacity magically increased from a mere 2 MB to a whopping 250 MB, and all of that free (unless microsoft compny wants to make me their jwaiin) .... talk about upgrades man .... i was like woah woah , what happened?? i mean i alwayz use hotmail and not other emails and was waiting when hotmail's gonna give some real storage .... now i can really store pics and stuffz in my email without having to worry about running out of space ... but guys, is it same with all of u also or not??? i mean have ur hotmail been upgraded??? just curious , kILLERbUZz

yeah, kb, mine has been upgraded too. that is some serious storage, but my feeling is that it's a free sample kind of thing. you know, a way to entice people to BUY more storage space for their hotmail account. it's like 20 bucks a year for additional storage. i hope i'm wrong, though, and it is just a gift from hotmail. but i doubt it. enjoy it while you can!

you can't do it for free. Of three of my accounts, only one was upgraded. I think they are gradually upgrading each account and I read somewhere that each account is classified into some group and upgrade is taking place groupwise.

I am surprised that you guys just had it upgraded. Mine was upgraded a month ago, like Ax. It wasn't a sample enticer or whatever, but a way to survive with other competitions as Yahoo and Gmail as passinthru also pointed out. By the way last time I tried to send an attachment, I believe the restriction was 10MB.

Whoa.... mine is a whopping 2000 MB! After 3 months of 25 MB space, I was surprised to see that increase. Micro$oft has the $$$ , I guess they can afford to fight competition (Gmail 1000 MB, Yahoo 100 MB). With firefox in the news lately, I won't be surprised if they revamp the IE. By the way, I use firefox as my default web browser. Haven't used IE for a few months now. You folks ( web savvy types and not so savvy types) can try the browser available at http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ Use it and you'll like it. Configure it your way and if you've got high speed internet.... works like a charm. dude, midwestdude.... from kansas to be precise

Day before yesterday one of my accounts had 4mb limit and the other one 2 mb... Yesterday, after Killa broke the news, one of my accounts was upgraded to 250MB and the otherone was untouched .. eh 2MB.... I thought saala haru le "choon choon ke" upgrade our accounts... Aaaja herya, both were 250MB, aaaaaaaaanch... (I don't know what I am going to do with it hehe) Half of them might fill up with Junk mail :D Now we just gotta watch 2 things... 1. I am pretty sure yahoo will also upgrade and make the limit just more than hotmail... like 251MB or higher... hehe... They don't want to get beaten by 2 major free email service providers. Google was okay, 1GB is kinda out of reach for yahoo, but, 250MB?? eh... I am sure in a month Yahoo will upgrade it too. 2. Microsoft le aba katti nakhara dekhaune hola, hehe... 2MB space dida ta 14MB ko rules and regulations matrai thiyo, eh... aba 250 dida ta 1 GB ko rules hune hola... eheh... Anyway, I don't know what am I gonna do with so much space... eh.. 1.520GB?? Kyaa karengaa? Khaayega?

The upgrade is not a big news, but Microsoft's frustration over Gmail coming on front line and trying to compete with Microsoft. Another frustration to Microsoft is Google Desktop released only last month. If the computer is used by only one user, its a great thing to try. You will forget the MS File Explorer's dumb file search mechanism. Google is also going to release web surfing IE like software, and that will surely hit the market as long as its going to be free. Google Desktop is so great that Google internet explorer if comes it will be a breathrough in crushing out the MS monopoly. How many of us really care privacy in the Google Desktop attacks us? If our prvacy was so important, how come were getting so many spams from Hotmail or Yahoo: because Hotmail and Yahoo themselves sell our emails to someone else as their so called partners. Do you care to read all these Terms and Conditions? Then, whats the use of being so concerned as long as the system is free of Hard cash (nothing is free: your time is also money. Time can not always be convrted to hard cash, thus, time is going to be wasted means you can use to as a virtual money using the free stuffs like hotmail or yahoo or google stuffs.). GP

GP baaa, how you? Whats that Google Desktop??? For a moment I thought you were talking about google TASKBAR... I think MS monopoly is somewhat good for us. Other companies/people take entirely different path and come up with awesome products, which are not quite like MS products but better than them and above all they are free... Linux will kick MS's arse big time in next decade, I guess. eheh... and gmail will kick hotmail's butt.. :P BTW, for the Gmail user, you can virtually store files in the gmail account like yahoo briefcase... and they have a software for that... 1GB storing space... eh.. transfer is same as email attachment.
