I have been reading tons of posts lately but it seems like that people who are popular in here, which some are, are the most likely the only ones to get some response back or if someone knows someone.
Why is it like this when it should looked at the quality of the posting?
Okay fine, the people that did get popular didn't just get popular from posting shity stuff, there stuff was pretty darn good. But now they don't need to do that anymore cause they already have their status in here. And if they ask a simple question they get answers like from at least a thousand people as to where a new guy asks a question not one reply?
Why is it like this?
And also kurakani isn't supposed to be a competition as to who is going to post the better stuff or is it?

Nails, you are pointing quite an excellent point. Of course, to raise the most common issue, which you like to share with other friends in a virtual world that is not possible to share in reality, including other helpful stuff like job posting, some useful announcements, is the basic platform provided by Sajha. Thanks to Sajha for this! If one is so dumb to cash the popularity in anonymity circle, that's pity for him.

What I am enjoying with the posting of the friends is that we are enjoying the ultimate freedom, democracy, while reading and writing on Sajha chautari.

Okay, Don't know how others see it, but I see sajha a library. You enter the library, if you see a book by a familiar writer, then you might want to borrow it. Or, if you see a book with the title that catches your eye, you might consider borrowing it. Most of the times you simply ignore other books regardless of how well they were written. You don't go around reading all the books in the library, unless that's your hobby. Some books might be a good read, but you might not want to comment, some, u just can't help but comment.

Napotism? eh, if my fav. author comes up with a brand new book, i'd read it despite whatever bad reviews he get... and might occasionally comment, praise... depends. Oh yeah, sometimes I also use the library catalog, find all the books and articles written by my fav. author and read as much as I can.

Khoi, probably they do it some other way.. ha.

Call it Napotism or my ass, but hey I don't wanna miss stuffs written by Oys, Sitara, Deep and Jira. Truth. Somebody else writes better, cool, if somebody recommends it or If i happen to bump into it, I'll read it, otherwise, my bad, I missed it. :D

Haha! Why did you like my name? (wink,wink) That's exactly what i mean. Why do you look at only the author's name and get excited all in one sec? Okay, they might be super good but why don't you sometimes just go by the title and try something new? So, that way new ones and the ones that are usually bad might even get a chance to improve, when they get some kind of person.
But i also agree with you that most likely people in general not only you just look for the authors, which is fine, but my question is why do they do this?

Nailsbro, I agree with Kalakisthan. I assume that we are capable enough to filter what is essential for us and what is not. Therefore, in any public forum like Sajha, there are always useful and not necessarily useful stuff, therefore, one has to be selective enough to use what is needed and to discard and ignore what is not. That is why we are in Sajha.

To raise any hypothetical negative view, it will not help you out. If you truely have genuine questions, definitely in Sajha someone might give you a satisfying solution to it, not necessarily 100% precise, if your answer is not forumlated or readymade already? Because you will never be satisfied with any answer unless it matches with your readymade one. Do you follow me? I cannot gurantee that I would be able to answer your question, neither I have to, but for sure, I have observed many friend who have good analytical view. Just give try friend.

Nails, you bring up a great point. I must confess that there are some names that instantly make me click on a link. Whenever Ashu posts, I click on the post, because he usually has something to say that tickles my intellectual taste buds. There is always conflict in the threads he posts to and conflict is entertaining. When Huspuppy posts, I click the link, because I am fascinated by how she can go on dumping so many guys. I wonder what she is upto next and who the next unlucky fellow is. When Rythm posts, I am reminded of a relative who is young and outspoken and feel a strange sense of connection to her postings. When Isolated Freak posts, I click on it to see what people on the pro-King side of things are saying. Why study China of all things, I sometimes wonder. When Salokya posts, I read so that I can get outraged. I am amused by the way he writes. When Indisguise posts, I click on it for fun - he is a little bit howde like myself. When San posts, I read because I know someone is getting scolded :) .

(If I missed any names, please don't get mad - my virtual memmory is running a little low this evening)
