I heard the News yesterday, one of my friend from mankato called me and i got shocked...I know utshav and Bedija very well..I had talked to Utshav just 2 days ago and he had wished me a Very Happy New year..I still remember his words " Bro yo pali sangai Oceancity janu parcha ani sangai Kaam garnu parcha hai ", actually we used to work together in Oceancity so he's still around my eyes. Its impossible to forget him. Also i was there during Fall break and we all(Bedija, Utshav and other friends) went together to Minneapolis. When we were in Minnepolis downtown, Utshav goes like this " Bro mero Hi5 ma rakhna lai single photo khichi dinu na".. I still have his photographs and a Video...Its really a sad news. . My heartfelt condolence goes to all these nepali friends.. The accident took place while returning from Albert Lea to Marshall. They were supposed to attend a New year party on Albert Lea. Bedija and his friend called few days ago and they were asking me to come to the party but because of my work i couldn't attend the party. Its really hard to belive now..I will never forget their warm accomodation extended to me during my short visit to Marshall.

Hello all,

A tragic news. We have just learned that three Nepali students Utsav
Basnet, Betija and Nishma perished in a car accident at St. Peters
yestreday. They were travelling from Marshall. Utsav Basnet who was
airlifted to Oakdale Hospital in twin cities died after about 1/2 an hour.
One person was dead immediately and one was taken to St. James hospital at
St. Peters but died after sometime.

Please check if any of you have any contacts in Marshall. We need to find
their contacts in Nepal. We are already in contact with Utsav's parent and
are working on to figure out our next step and how

Utsav's body is currently at Hennepin Med. Examination and it'll be
released by tomorrow. We have to make decision really quick.

Lets keep update through this email if anyone have any information.

Let us all pray for their departed souls. We will update you as more
information becomes available and request fro any support we might need
from the Nepalese community in MN and around.

************************************************
Please email these people if you have contact info for the departed soul's families. May God bless all of us Nepalis in every corner.

ST. JAMES, Minn. — Three young people from Nepal died after a two-car crash in southern Minnesota on state Highway 4 south of St. James.

The State Patrol in Mankato reports the three were passengers in a car that tried to make a U-turn from the right shoulder of the road and was broadsided by another car Tuesday.

Those killed were: Utshav Basnet, 19, Nishma Timilsina, 20, and Bedija Kharel, 20.

Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall confirmed that Basnet was a student there. Officials were checking whether the other two victims also attended the school.

They were in a car driven by a 17-year-old girl from Clarks Grove. She and another passenger were taken to a Mankato hospital. Their conditions were not immediately available.

The 82-year-old man who was driving the other car is in good condition at a Madelia hospital.
