Mark my word, Prachanda will be assassinated by none other than his own Maoist party cadres. From his recent comments about his party's ideology being nothing similar to that of chairman Mao or Lenin, it is clear that he is nothing but a power hungry SOB. I am sure it was and is starting to be realized within his own party as well. That is probably why Baburam wanted out few months ago and hey whatever happened to the main military logistic brain behind the PLA, comrade Badal??? Prachanda probably feared a coup against him from his own party and that is why he decided to go public. If not for the fear and power greed there is no way he would come out public under these circumstances considering monarchy and SPA were in a total destruction mode and would have finished each other off leaving only other alternative as the Maoist and giving them the most easy access towards their goal. However, opportunist such as Prachanda and others have used this moment to get their share of the power chair and an easy way out (because underground jungle life is fun for only so much... I guess), but what they have failed the realize is that the guns they gave and the brains they washed to have young mind be totally manipulated for their fake and worthless ideology will come down hunting for their own heads one day if they didn't lived up to the promises.

After all this has taken place, Nepal will either be part of India or will be ruled by military generals like in Pakistan and many other African countries. I mean what other alternative will be left?? Don't see any....enlighten me know if you do.

I don't see any real risk to Prachanda from his own party (theoritically, there is always, though). Instead, he is and will be always a target of CIA, et al.

Most people in Maoists don't understand what communism meant for them. They joined Maoists because it enticed them with some promises: empowering women, indigenous groups, Madhises, poor people etc. This is what most Nepalis want as well. People would also be with NC or UML if they were to come up with such promises. The bottom line is the all their problems should be resolved.

So, a comminist party should not necessarily act like what Mao or Lanin did. They can entirely forget about communism (this is what most people like to see in Nepal) and work for poor/landless, indigenous people. If Prachanda does that, even changes his party name to some democratic parliamentarian party, people and even those maoist cardes too will accept it.

I agree thapayen but have you read the recent news where Prachanda has warned that if his needs are not met ....Nepal will see the worst PEOPLES revolution......MORE DEATH, DESTRUCTION, WAR ETC... Unlike you, I am very optimistic about peace prevailing in our country very soon:

Prachanda can not ignore Nepali people's feeling and passion for peace. He knows that peopple supported SPAM movement because their 12-point understanding shed some hope of peace in the country. He can not ignore international communities either. UN, EU etc. are becoming soft towards Maiosts because they promised them of doing peaceful movement, respecting people's rights, etc.

What Prachanda is sayign in recent days is just to become stronger in the bargaining table. He does not himself likes to spend rest of his life in jungle with fear, so he is not going to miss this opportunity.

you may be right to certain extent.but in recent days also he has been issuing unnecessary statements about RNA etc,which in not concern now.why is he doing such thing.Do piss people off.If he wanted peace he would have directed his cadres to stop extroting n kidnnaping people.This shows how much they really care about peace.They are used to easy way of making money by fear and intimdation.they won't give up that power easily.In past history also commies have done the same things.I just don't think we should trust commies.

So you can not say I am blind by the communist ideas. Yes I might be blind with the hopes the present change has brought.

Prachanda has his own vision about communism in Nepal. He himself said the communism of old russia doesn't work in this era. So we have to modify it.
