Good for family, children and the country: Just over 16.6 million people aged 25 and over had been legally married at some point in their life in 2001. Of this group, 89 per cent, or nearly 14.8 million people, were married once, while about 10 per cent or 1.7 million had married twice. On the other hand, roughly 137,000, less than one per cent, had tied the knot more than twice, virtually all of them three times. dont get disillusioned. Canada's yunger population outnumbers the older generation. Because of immigration blah blah...and also better health care system. The ones married are ALLL youth. It's a cycle u see, several years a ago I read an aticle in an international magazine that stated canada with the HIGHEST divorce rate. after a few years the cycle turns downwards because a new generation is gettin ready to be married and hence THEIR marriage is recorded....the research should have pointed out what the age group was. it wouldnt be surprising to find that age group falling under 40 years of age....still considered a good time to get married by many....an young as well.

The point you have raised here is a good one. But, the figures you have seen here are only among those who are married at least once in their life spans.

Yeah I guess, but does it matter if you REMAIN married? What about infidelity? Many couples I believe have commited adultery. But they still live together. Where does that fall into the supposed "equation"? whatdya think?

ok, but you will find such persons in every society. you can not consider those persons as divorsed unless they continue having sex with their partners and remain in the union. you need to study them separately.

Do you know that besides exporting over 80% of all it's raw and finished goods to the United States Canada also exports its trash to the United States. Each day Toronto city's 120 trucks of garbage goes to landfill site in Michigan. Canadians love to export eveything to the United states including its trash.

Since Canada has been so proactive with its immigration population. It also has a huge population of Indians, Chinese and Africans. Do you think this has to do with the contribution in an increasingly stable marriage rate?
