Please read the last two paragraphs of part 2 of the story.
Your assets can be ‘testamentary’ or ‘non-testamentary’. The second one means a will is not required. Many life insurances are non-testamentary.
All you need to do to make a friend/girlfriend/boyfriend eligible for this is by signing the bond with the insurance company and the state you live in. Some do it, others don’t. That is why I have used a bogus insurance company name. That’s all the research I did on this.

This is one of the most clever lines of the story. You need to figure this out on your own. Or, have your own meaning. Explaining that will take away the irony behind it...

Xena, I think Miss divya was thinking of taking things a little further with mr bledsoe but when she saw the ring she found out that he was not available, so she asked bledsoe if he knew anyone from immigration office so that she could get some help.

She adopted that girl for household help because she now has a bigger house, and some help in the housework would be nice. Not Dumb at all but smart.

Thats my take.

The character is good at using other people as stepping stones to get to her goals.

I guess Ms. Pandey wanted a live like a queen...not to worry about cleaning, cookin, laundry n all.. and compared to how much money she has... she is hardly spending any on tht poor grl...as stated.. tht grl was sleeping in a garage.. no school...juss work .. work... plus she sued tht insurance company so i bet she didn't even have to pay a cent out of her pocket for her medical expenses...Oh well.. juss my side of explaination.. bhusan, about Mr. Bledsoe..what do U mean that when she saw that he wasn't available (ring) that she decided to get help from someone. How does immigration and having/not having a ring fit in? I am still sticking to my theory. I think she was having an affair with him ani was trying to blackmail him when she found out that he was married.

Well, just coz U have a bigger house doesn't mean U need THAT much extra work. One person eats and drinks...sleeps...bkah blah..there is nothing much to mess in the house so katti cleaning chaincha?
