Wow..where to start!!
I have a friend who is going viz the rough page of her life. She is married to the muslim guy for 8 years. Now, he comes back after meeting his family and ask for a divorce. She asked the reason & he told her that she didnt loss 50 pounds ( she is not that heavy though). She comes cjerKrying to me today & summarize all the things he blamed her. I cant believe that a guy will go that low after getting his citizenship.

During 8 yr perios, she deposit her all the pay checks in his bank account. I know she did the wrong thing but he is a good manipulator. The question is how can she gets her money and justice. I donot want her to be penniless after spending eight years of her life.

Can she file complaint against that guy?

she can get her own lawyer...she will get justice..tell her to be strong..the court system in US always favour girl..so in case she needs to seperate or divorce she can get everything...that jerk needs to be punished..

tell her to talk with her husband if possible and try to settle the matter at home. if it does not work that way, then hiring a good lawyer and honestly fighting against the injustice is the only last resort.

i hope she gets strong at this time of crisis.. i am sorry to hear about it...

tell her to be brave and fight against him, if he is the culprit.

loosing 50 pounds is not good reason,...this is discrimination and verbal abusive husband..i am sure if she goes to court that guy will definately be charged..or if she simply report the police claiming her husband is verbally abusive..he will be charge by sate....

Situation seems really bad on your friends side and I know it can be very painful but at the same time this is the time that one should not only worry but try to get the results on her favor.

I think she should be just practical (Sorry LooTeKuKur but I don't see the point in trying to settle things at home), cause you can see how smart he's trying to play with her emotions by making an excuse of weight. Now that he got his card, he wants out of that marriage.

So she should get a experienced lawyer who handles such cases and try to get all or most of the paychecks that she deposited in his account even while he was visiting his folks (found a girl who he like picked by his parents - just speculating).

so far i know you don't even need to record..if you simply tell cops about verbal abuse that guy will be in mama ghar and will learn the lesson..no doubt..that guy always manipulated her...and now she should be practical..i can see that guy is controlling her ,emotionally abusive......

Wow..She became a muslim and doesnt have any relation with her parents as they disown her. She learnt how to make indian dishes and culture..I mean she loved him so much...now its coming & she is so shocked dun know what to do. Gosh, I was so shocked to hear these thing. To make the matter worse, he told her that he is going to UK & in order to work there he needs work permit. SO, his sis has found a guy who is willing help him by marrying him....GAY marriage....he is sick...he doesnt know anything but to have citizenship by marrying.

Anyways, there is nothing to be afraid of if u just get good divorce attorney and proof of his gay plans things will work out in lot favor of her.
According to american law, Woman gets half of husband property and so does husband from wife's ..so suggest her to get good divorce attrorney.. woman always comes on top.

Banks usually are expected to keep a record of everyt transaction and what not.
Also, in case of such an argument, courts usually decide on favour of girls. ON TOP OF THAT, usually people from other countries, especially thoese with a history of women supression and what not, i.e. Pakistan, there are provisions (not opfficial but judges will consider) that she get the right decision.
Go fight for her and take that jerk into jail!

Dont know why girls fall for these ji had people. You know how they treat women.. literally like farm animals.. that is in their country but their mentality does not change much even if they come to US. They are like sheeps.. never question their religion.. just do what they are told and go ji had against others..i.e. infidels. most of the time, women wins the divorce battle in the court. i know in california they do. she can claim alimony and suck out $$ from him as long as he lives. well, i think u should tell her that she be happy that she found the truth on time that he was not right for her. and just try to be happy, because there isn't much that she can do to emotional heal herself. by the way, she can do anything lawfully to get most of the damages he has caused on her. that is why there is LAW in this country. i suggest her contact a lawyer. most lawyers offer free first hour of consultation. this way she can shop around law firms and seek advice, because he cannot be let loose after what he has done.

As far as based on your story I don't think there was any condition about losing 50 lbs when they got married. So there cannot be any bargain regarding tha case although there is a chance that the husband can ask for a divorce without any particular reason. Now our biggest question is how to get your friend off her husband without being pennyless, the best thing to do is to get a lawyer and tell him all about the husband and also his probable intention of leaving her when he got his way which could be used as an intentional crime. Now a days the immigiration law is very tough and I think you can use the intentional crime and get the guy off the country. You can also sue him for all the money or at least half of the money that was deposited in the bank by your friend. Just remember whatever you do if possible do not try to settle with the guy this might come up again so take care of the problem with a very good lawyer.

Well i dont know why so called educated sajahities are so racist. Why are you generalising all the muslim. I have seen few of muslims in my workplace love thier wife so much and just cant stop talking about them.

And what do you think of nepalese. Many of the nepalese treat their wife badly. I have seen few of them almost beat their to half death. so what should other say dont marry nepalese they treat their wife badly.

If you cant give good suggestion then keep quiet. Whole community cant be responsible for few person's deed.

She is American and works as a CNA in the hospital I work. We became close frens....for a year now. Sometimes she comes and teach me how to cook Biryani, haluwa..etc.
So honest and kind hearted.

& yeah... I have also heard that a nepali guy vanished from his home the day he got the greencard. I agree that this is completely different than my fren's situation. But the nepali guy also showed no descency of telling anything to his wife. He chose to run on the day he got what he wanted. GOsh...he stayed with her for 4 years and couldnt stay one more day.
