Just by contributing your earning equivalent to one hour, you will be able to educate one child back home.If you earn $10 or more per hour and have strong desire to educate one poor child back home, you will be able to do that. Nepal has just about 4000 villages and I believe, we have more than 4000 people in USA and Europe who earns more than $10/hour. Just one hour a month...you do not require to find NGO or anyhting for doing this...Just chose one child from a rural area and take responsibilty to educate him/her.. That's what Nepal needs....neither Prachanda nor Gyanendra...

In 10 years,we can at least produce 4000 educated people to lead villages. In 10 years, you can destroy lives of 13000 family by giving arms to innocent hands. In 10 years, you can build educated villages by small contribution. It is time to chose a path for your nation guys...step ahead guys..

latoboy...thanx for coming forward..Since,there is always lack of trust to NGO and any non profit organization among Nepalese and it will be lengthy process too...it will be a good way if the person donating directly involves in it and feel attached in a process.Just select one poor kids from any rural area of your interest and send money directly to kids....Very Simple...

Thanks Bookeshwore for your interest on it.If you are really interested and wants to take responsibility to educate one poor child, you can chose village of your interest at your own and gets responsibility of one of the child from that village.Send $10 to that child/month.If you need any help finding kids,I can help you providing lists of villages, schools from rural area. BinodB thanks for being with me ...I am not nanu in fact...It gives you satisfaction if you can extend your hands to some poor kids back home and say hi_nanu/hi_babu. Everybody does for their own family...Let's do something for needy people...

Contributing to any social cause is worthy. Unfortunately, we are short on action and more on promises. In fact Nepalese have a big, V E R Y B I G M O U T H, when it comes to promises. Only problem is we never follow. We tried to raise $300-$400 this year to support 2 students from old school back home. There are about 10 of us from our batch in the US and all have graduated and are making good money. When I proposed an idea, everybody got excited with one promise after another. When it comes to collecting money, most of them were silent. I thought if we cannot contribute to school that gave us so much, then it doesn't take a lot to figure out why our country is so f@cked up. I realise that most of people are like that. People are always looking for a free ride. When it comes to contribution, they dont want to be any part of. I am not saying everybody is like that. But I would not be too optimistic. I believe it is better to do on your own as much as you can, rather than expecting helping hands from anyone.

Nanu, That is a very good idea indeed. I know a friend who is already doing that. He picked up a little girl from a remote village in Nepal and started to contribute $100/Year. Now, that little girl is sitting on the SLC exams. That must be a very good feeling too. I've wanted to start this myself too but very lazy to do research and stuff on where to go and how to find the genuine needy kids. I'm in this with you. I will gladly contribute $10/month to educate 1 child back home.

Jiv Man ji,I agree with your points...there will always be less number of people when times come for real contribution...There may be the different reasons...even if they are willing to contribute, their own financial situations and other commitments are not in favor...may be different reasons... That's the reason why,I am not talking here about collective and organized way of contribution...Just trying to initiate people who are really interested to contribute for some great cause which may change the face of our nation...And you can not expect contribution from everybody who reads this thread...May be people are doing a lots on their own...And at the same time,we can not ignore the reality of our own situation.. "We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give." - Winston Churchill Jivan Ji...Lets be positive and I know...WE NEPALESE ARE VERY KIND HEARTED AND THOUGHTFUL

Nepal Over,Isn't that better contribution? When a kid you are contributing sits for SLC and in +2 and do something good for his/her village. There are few people already have started such a good work. Why don't we follow their path for good reason? Thanks for your willingness to educate one child back home..

I appreciate your effort. if anybody interested to do that and wondering about some questions like how much? how do i choose kids? and some of other related stuffs then i wanna share my experience: I am from a very poor village back in nepal. i dont think i need to explain the condition of the school itself and the kids studying there if you have seen or visited "government school in a poor village of nepal" OR if you are from a village of nepal. i have seen and went through all those stuffs and cant stop tear whenever i think about my childhood and all those experiences. now, I have masters degree from a renowned university in USA, i had scholarship offered by the university for the entire masters course. its been a year i am working as an engineer and making some good dollars. here, i just wanna tell you guys, there are 100s of kids back in our villages who has a high potential, and are very intelligent. I started helping 5 kids back in village,,first i talked to the "Headmaster" of the school, who still loves me in the same way that he used to when i was in the school. i gave him all responsibilities for selecting poor and intelligent kids and all other stuffs. all i need is to send my 15 days cheQUE a year!!!! and 5 kids, their parents, and all other take me as their god! really,,,how happy they are,,how happy those kids going to be in future,,,i am giving 1 doctor, 1 engineer, 1 pilot, 1 good politician, and 1 scientist to my village, every year!!!! I AM SENDING ONLY 15 DAYS PAY CHEQUE A YEAR BACK TO MY VILLAGE FOR ALL THIS, AND THAT AMOUNT IS A LITTLE LESS THAN WHAT I USED TO SPEND IN NIGHT CLUBS IN 15 DAYS. I STILL GO TO CLUBS, BUT ONLY TWICE A MONTH NOT FOUR TIMES A MONTH AS BEFORE, BECAUSE I HAVE THOSE KIDS WITH ME. * NANNU,, WE REALLY DONT NEED BOTH PRACHANDA AND GYANENDRA..MAY BE NOT GIRIJA, MADHAV NEPAL,,NOBODY,,IF ONLY 50,000 NEPALI LIVING ABROAD TAKE CARE OF ONLY 5 KIDS FROM A VILLAGE. ITS GONNA BE ONLY 15 DAYS PAY CHECQUE!!!! PLEASE GUYS,,THINK ABOUT IT AND START DOING SOME GOOD STUFFS TO YOUR VILLAGE, COUNTRY........ NANNU,,THANKS AGAIN.
