I agree. What a disgrace yaar. No fans in any of the matches. This is probably going to be the only Cricket World Cup without a single match ( including the finals ) without sellout crowds. The grounds arent filled even while West Indies are playing. I disagree with your statement on not enough runs though. This has been the only world cup with scores over 300 being scored every other match. The reason being the flat surfaces and the small sized boundaries. The next World Cup should be a cracker though.

I agree. After India and Pakistan being kicked out and WI playing one of their poorest cricket in years because of team feaudility...only saving grace is Ausies, SA and Srilanka. But with not many Srilankan, Ausies and S African visiting the carebbean to watch the cup the cup has been seriously boaring.

Well. As far as cricket is concerned it is by very exciting. Compare it to last world cuip . Except for the match of south africa vs westindies (First match) all the matches were almost one sided. This time around many matches have been so close.True . ICC have somewhat ruined by making ticket prices so high that even a middleclass westindian cannot afford. The fielding in the world cup has been high quality. Apart from some exceptions. Of course most of the people who said it is jhurest must be pakistan and Indian supporter. No wonder you feel it jhurest. Second thing, most of you must be watching in US so probably there is no atmosphere. Third thing , Some of you must be watching it online. Online can never replace what is on tv because you can watch indept interviews, loads of programmes and other things in tv which builds enthusiasm. I have been watching matches with my irish friends throughout the world cup and you have to be with them to feel what it really means to them. Some of them are watching world cup for the first time.

bidhan, it is the jhurest one. no matter, who are in the final 8, if there is not crowd to support, there is no more excitement and no more fun to watch.

Was it full last time around when other team except southafrica or India and pakisitan match. Even during indian match the stadium were not full. Go and watch highlight of matches like newzealand and australia , or even england you will still see empty stadium. The fact that westindian crowd have not turned up doesnot mean there is less excitment. Take an example of a peanut seller in jamaica which is typical of jamaica. he has to give 152 pound for one day to do his business. As far as quality and closeness of cricket is concerned it is by far best since 1992. Tell me , How many of you are Indian or pakistani supporter ? How many of you are watching it online? How many americans are watching it? Why is test match so exciting even when it is played in empty stadium? The answer is simple. It depends on what kind of people and surrounding you are living with. Whom you are watching with.Ever tried watchin match with barmy army supporters in pub? My kiwis and Irish friends arn't complaining and they are over the moon at the moment.

I'm truly convinced that Bidhan bro has gone completely out of his minds. Once again he's here trying to convince everyone that this is more exciting than the last World Cup simply because he's watching it with his Kiwi and Irish friends. No wonder why the prospects of bangladesh vs SA and ban vs Aus along with Ireland vs SA seem so exciting to him. And then he tries to bring the test matches empty stands scenarios in not an ordinary cricket tournament but the BIG world cup!!! Have you lost your mind? This is feckin world cup for god's sake, not a local cricket. You'rethe only one who'd say that this world cup has been an exciting one. Ever watched with barmy army re..watching with kiwis and irish re...duh. Stop showing off dude. This has been a boring and dead world cup and you're the ONLY one who disagrees.

. Tempted to throw in my opinion here! Hehehe "Why is test match so exciting even when it is played in empty stadium?" - It is because test matches demand the technicality, the patience, the ability to see the cricket ball as the size of the football and moreover they test how a good player you are! Can't think of anything for the moment. Mid-day crisis again! :-)

If you are a true cricket lover you should never have a problem with kind of cricket being played. Be it Gibbs hitting 6 sixes in an over, or Ireland beating pakistan or Malinga taking 4 wickets in 4 balls or some of the fielding which have been sintillating. For me jhurest world cup was 1996 one. True the stadium was full, lots of people. So what. It was win 3 matches and win the world cup kind of trophy. Everybody knew which 8 team would reach the quarter finals. Despite kenya making upset the same 8 teams reach. Cricket is also gave of unpredicatability and that whats have made this world cup different than past. Rather than maoning about Pakistan and India why dont you appreciate how well Ireland have played. True kenya reach the last world cup semifinal but one shouldnot forget newzealnd gave them 4 easy points by not playing in Kenya. Ireland have reached the second round on his own.

agree with Balabhadra, Bidhan is the only one who enjoy the world cup 2007. You remember, how exciting was the last world cup.. Now, nobody can not predict the weather. Match overs are reduced every day due to rain. WI is for tourist to sunbath at beaches not for Cricket.

True filp flop. A genuine cricket fan will still watch test matches on television despite being played in empty ground. Because cricket in reality is the game of television not a ground. People want to lie in the couch take a beer and watch the match. There is I think 20-20 world cup soon, you will see how full the stadium will be.

Bidhan bro, you might be from biratnagar while I'm from Kathmandu but I'm a true lover of the game and you need not tell me what good and entertaining cricket is and what boring cricket is. Do you know why EPL is so exciting over other leagues? It is the fans. If cricket is played in empty stadiums then no matter what level of cricket you play, it fails to generate passion among the viewers. BTW, you've once again proved that you're a "MAN on his own" by telling us that the world cup '96 was the most boring. Let me remind you again, the WC of 96 gave birth to the trend of pinch hitting in One day internationals and we saw some of the best batting displays at the WC.

Good thing that you mentioned the reduced over matches dandapani, the worst thing of this world cup has been the matches with reduced number of matches. I hope that the finals aren't played as a reduced overs match to decide the winner.

Danda pani. Really. Have rain completely washed out any matches. Remember westindies were out of the world cup last time only due to rain because there match with bangla was washed out. newzealand and england fofeited two matches in kenya and zimbabwe. Zimbabwe match against newzealand was washed out in 1999 and zimbo that time around had genuine chance of winning. Australia , Westindies forfieted matches in srilanka in 1996 because they had luxury because it was almost sure that they would qualify to sencond round no matter what. South africa was sadly thrown out of the world cup in 1992 win the weird rain rule. Tell me what a full stadium have to do with you watching the world cup. If your team have been playing you would have still be watching the world cup with interest.

. "Because cricket in reality is the game of television not a ground." I have to disagree here. If that statement was so true, why would people spend money just to watch the game live in the stadium. If eveybody follows the same trend of sitting at home and watching matches on television, that day won't be far when there will be countable players!

If cricket match is just for TV, then why there are lots of chairs for spectators. However, it is shame of WI, who could not given enough security for the coach and players. One of the example is the death of Bob Wolmer. The World Cup 2007 always will remain as a black event for all of the cricket fat. Becasue 1. Not exciting match. 2 Murder of Bob Wolmer. shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WI

Apparently, Bidhan seems to be trying his best to tell us about the passion of watching the games with friends as if we didn't know about it. But let me ask him again, would you prefer watching India vs Australia with friends or Bangladesh playing against Australia? Gee. This world cup has been gay!!
