I filed my I 485 in july 2. Did anyone get recept number who filed at that time period? How long it will take to get the receipt number? Does anybody have any clue?

You should be expecting a huge delay. I filed mine this week, and I am not expecting to receive my receipt number until the first week of Sept. Green card aaune ta kahile ho kahile.

If you have paid with your personal check and you have signed up for online banking, you can view your used check (both side) online. You can also find reciept number on the back side of your used check where INS put their stamp instead of signature we normally put before cashing or depositing the check.

I didn't write the personal check. It went with attroney check, so all I can do is wait and see.

i filed my i-485 on jul 9 and i got my receipt number already...dunno when is da hariyo card is comin..lol

I got the reciept number too but that is just mail receipt number. the real receipt number is start with src,lin, wac or eac. if that start with eb then yours is just mail receipt number. so can you share what u got???

Reciept number comes in a paper called I-797 (notice of action).

My employer is asking for 60 - 90 days to advertise my position to file I - 140 , im currently in H1, does the employer really need to put an ad for that long? i thought the standard was 30 days ad. Any experts on this?

i think u need to put add for two times in a row. so it will be 60 days.plus
they have to take some interviews so whole process can take 90 days for sure but again since i dont know much.so why dont u ask you lawyer about that.

Your employer is not lying. Unfortunately it takes at least 60 days for to publish add on local paper. But wait, you are saying they are asking 90 days to fle I-140???? It takes around 60 days for LABOR not I-140. Once you have LABOR certified, you don't have to wait single day to flile I-140.
And keep in mind that if you have certified labor now, you can even file I-485 parallel
with I-140.

sidster: you are qualifed for EB2 if you have US masters or US bachelors with 5 years of experience. Even US masters is qualified under EB2, you still need to show that your job requires EB2.
