Maoists: Madness in making

This time the target is Kantipur Publications. Next time it can be any. Maoists are showing their true colors. They behave as if they are from a different planet. They are alien to logic, humanity and civilization.

Comrade Mahara or their party says it is their internal matter whereas it is so clear that this agitation, destruction and threat to stop broadcasting of Kantipur TV and breaking the head of Mr Sirohiya is part of their design.

Independent press or any one who speaks against their ill motive comes in their way and they want extermination of any obstacle to establish their dogmatic and cruel rule. They considered they are superior and dictate everybody to follow them. They do not mind taking physical actions for which they will never bother legal procedure or universal human rights. They can flout their own statements because their mission is clear. Their free press policy is a ploy and a ludicrous lie. They are prepared to commit whatever to grab the state power and machinery in the name of well being of poor and downtrodden mass.

How we can forget the entire learnt mass of former Kampuchea (now Cambodia) were systematically massacred by the then communist regime of Khmer Rouge to kill any chances of opposition to their bizarre and whimsical governance? In Nepal moderate communists like CPN UML have shown their adoptions to democratic governance system for quite some time but in general the staunch and fanatic communists are opt to radical moves and revolution to establish a totalitarian dictatorship. So they need army not for defending the country from foreign invasion or quelling future guerilla warfare or inside mutiny but for silencing their critics. Normally army for small country like Nepal is for national independence and security but will never enter into politics. Such army will never have any ambitious political national or international agenda unlike those of Indian, Chinese or American army. But hardliner communists need army to rule the country steadfastly and single-handedly. Life and human rights mean nothing for them.

So all their speeches and manifestos for freedom, equality, justice, social security and economic progress are only weapons on their march towards hijacking the state machinery. Actually communist leaders want access to the huge national wealth like any other bad intended leader or royalties. Money and national wealth is everything to them during and after revolution.

Their theme of revolution starts with coercing the innocent and helpless especially rural people to give money or man to wage the war against the existing regime. Any contribution was never voluntary. They spread false rumors and sell hypothetical lucrative promises to the vulnerable mass especially poor and uneducated. They collude to national power centers, army generals, foreign missions and international organizations. They make alliances or agreements (like with seven parties) but their infamous hidden agenda is always clear. To establish a total communist regime.

So if Kantipur Publications can distribute their copies free or without advertisement they will not object. What a statement! Since Kantipur is making good profits they too want to share it. They do not mind if their proposals are sustainable or not. They are not bothered if the publication fails and hundreds of employment is gone. Bomb went off in Karmachari Sanchaya Kosh building in Sundhara few years back because that they did not get enough donations from the contractor. They killed innocent people because they did not give them hefty money. They do not mind looting few thousand rupees made out of the saving of the rural poor. Actually they want money. They want total communist regime also to have the same.

We wonder how we can curtail this making of madness in Nepal. Any patronage or support to them is tantamount to feeding a snake with milk. They are aliens and should go to another planet.

I am talking about the maoists behaviour. If you are not in Nepal now, you might have heard about the double standard of the maoist leaders. Activists are padlocking the kantipur publications and leaders are in favor of free press. Nobody has stopped Maoists from opening their own publication house and show example of free press and fair publication, if they find Kantipur, Samacharpatra, Himalayan Times, Himal, Samaya, etc favoring India, America (and whatever they think..........).

In the Nepalese context, Mandale is not any particular person or a group, it now represents the character and set of behaviors. Definately, the word was coined during panchayat regime. A section of the society supporting the panchayat regime was named mandale because they did not accept free press. They tried to shut the mouths of people who were not in their favor, particularly in favor of their actions. Do you find any difference between the actions of the Maoists now and that in the panchayat regime? You may try to justify maoists' actions saying that they are working for the benefit of the people and to wipe out the feudal shah dynasty. I know that may be true. But in a civilized society, it is unbecoming to show your fist and force every follow whatever you think right or wrong. Let them make their own judgement, let them think and let them decide. so, think about it before going for one or the other (i mean, royals or maoists). They are two sides of a coin.
