 Dear Friends, 

Landlocked Travels ripped me off. They are fraud travel agent. I recommend nobody to buy tickets from them because:
  1. They overcharge you. More than stated in the itinerary.
  2. Your ticket might me different than your itinerary.
I purchased my tickets through Landlocked Travels (TICKET2NEPAL.COM) and basically got ripped off. They overcharged me and gave me a different return ticket. My arrival information had a different arrival city than where I flew from. This is not what I wanted. 
After doing  this, when you call them to fix it, they will say okay but never fix it. Its been almost 5 months since I purchased my tickets from them, I have still not received the difference amount of overcharge versus the real amount they put on my debit card.
They are very nice when you call them and they will promise to fix your problem, but in real life, your problem is pushed to the edge and never solved. I am posting this here so that what happened to me, does not happen to you.

After calling them several times, I sent them an official email 3 days ago, and have not received anything back. It is a shame for a Nepali Travel Agent to rip off Nepali students who are struggling to make their ends meet. I am attaching my email as well as other proofs against the company here. This is essential to verify the fraudness in them. If you've already bought tickets from them, please check your bank statement to see if they have overcharged you. Please also check your ticket information as it could have been changed.

I have filed a complaint with Better Business Beaurau (BBB.com) and awaiting response from them as well. I have attached the verification files along with the email I sent them for further information. In the end, DO NOT BUY TICKETS FROM THEM.

I have called your company, LANDLOCKED TRAVELS/ TICKET2NEPAL.COM numerous times to obtain the money you owe me. I got an itinerary quote from your company on the 22nd of September 2010. The quote was for USD 1392.00 after taxes and fees. Your company over-charged me for a sum of USD 1421.10. This reflected in my statement a week after I was charged. My fingers cannot handle calling your company's number anymore. They are entirely exhausted. The main purpose of this email is not only to get the money you owe me, but also to enlighten you about the declining reputation of your company. I will briefly explain our conversations I had with your company below:

 

1. 09/22/10- This was the date, I received the quote from your company.

2. 09/24/10- This is when I gave your my card to purchase the ticket, leaving (11/22/10).

3. 10/01/10- I call you for I did not get the ticket conformation, you ask me to call back in a week.

4. 10/11/10- I call you again just to hear “tickets need to be bought in bundles” I asked for a call back.

5. 10/13/10- '21' days after giving you the card, you email me the ticket conformation.

- Ticket was different from the quote, I was flying from DFW but arriving IAH. :S

- You say, the company will do something about changing the ticket.

6. 10/14/10- I email you to arrange me a seat for DFW instead of IAH again.

- Between this time and the 20th, I call your company several times without a solution.

7. 10/23/10- I call you to tell you I was overcharged for the ticket.

-You told, the card would be refunded.

- I call you several times for the refund and to make the return ticket to DFW not IAH.

- By this time, I had talked to almost all of your employees Mr. Promise, Mr. Suresh, etc.

8. 11/15/10- I call you for the last time to remind you about my return to DFW and my refund.

- You ask me to talk to your office people in Nepal.

9. 11/24/10- I get to Nepal. Take some time off before I head to your office in Jyatha(Top Floor).

 

I did not keep track of the dates when I was in Nepal, but I had to go to your office several times before my ticket from IAH to DFW was handed to me. It was handed 2 days before my return date. If my ticket was for DFW, I would have saved 4 hrs of flight time and 5 hrs of transit time. 9 hours of unjust suffering. I was still happy for I traveled home.

 

Once I get back to the US, I call your company yet again regarding my refund. It has been 4 months and 17 days since I gave you my card to purchase the tickets, but have not heard anything from you regarding the refund. I called your company yesterday and talked to Mr. Suresh. You were supposed to call me this morning to talk about the refund procedure. It's 12:30 at night, so I decided to email you with the details myself.

 

Mr. Poudel, The information stated above does not give a good impression of your company and the way it handles its customers. I have sufficient data to back up everything I stated above. For your references, I have attached the quote snapshot showing the quoted price along with a snapshot of my bank card statement. I hope this email would pave a way to solve all the problems you have with your customers. I am not sure how you are going to compensate me for all this trouble ( the trouble includes me finding the data and typing this email to you ;)). I don't know why you would do this to me, after I recommended some customers to you who blame me for your lame services.

 

Whatever happened to me, I wish would not happen to other travelers. To make sure this does not happen anymore, I hope you would not mind me posting this email and the supporting documents to an online blog, where I can make people aware of the trouble they may come across, if they plan to buy tickets from LANDLOCKED TRAVELS. As far as my refund is concerned, I hope you'd find a way pay it off. Its been a long time and I hope I would not have to wait any longer.

Really sorry to hear about your experience . I have purchased ticket from them in the past , they were very cooperative and reliable , atleast for me anyways.

Where is this agent based at ? If it is in US can't you file a complaint against it to consumer fraud. Thats a lame way of doing business.

 contact your credit card company too.. they will contact them and, in most probability, return you the difference in price.

P.S. Thanks for the post.. I will never buy a ticket from them.

best, File a complain for consumer fraud and let them learn the lesson and settle at the bottom.

 I bought a ticket through them, last May and they did the same to me. They overcharged me around forty dollars and not only that, for few weeks there was a frequent charges in my account in the name of student travel or something like that. i called them bunch of times and told that they gonna fix all those but they never did. i stopped calling them after that,
and yea, they will charge you more than you see in the advertise. I wouldn't recommend this place for you all.

 Thank you people for your support. I will try calling my Bank and see if they can do something about it. As far as the Travel Agency is concerned, aajhai kaan ma tel halera baseko chha :(

"My arrival information had a different arrival city than where I flew from" had your arrival city be same as the city where you flew from, wouldn't you end up landing at the same City from where you just departed ,' )

Even i was hoping to buy a ticket thru them for this summer ....thank you my fren for letting us know about how they do their business....BYE BYE landlock travel...you missed your one more customer due to your bad professionalism attitude.

Thanks for raising your concern. In the past couple of years, I have spoken to numerous friend who had experienced similar to yours and from various travel agent. Here, I am trying to write my own experience and letting readers know that every cloud has silver lining. By no means I am favouring, and/or arguing Landlocked.com or any of the writers in this thread.

After having seen ad in sajha.com, few months back,  I called Landlocked.com and asked for a quote (US-NEP-NEP-US). They offered a bargain price. Although, I received better (with margin price) deal from another company. Again, in the last week of January, 11 I was trying to get two tickes for my parents (NEP-US-US-NEP) and contact Landlocked.com. They offered me the best price I could imagine. First, I was quiet skeptical, and in the mean time I saw this thread in Sajha.com. Because Landlocked.com had already issued tickets, I began wondering how much would they charge on my CC. Today, almost 7 days after issuing tickets, I found that  Landlocked.com has charged my CC  exactly what they told in the booking email. The guy I was dealing with in Landlocked was the same that LYAUSE dealt with. He seemed a fine young man. 

Any way, I hope Landlocked.com will bring this dispute with Lyause to an happy ending.

"Today, almost 7 days after issuing tickets, I found that  Landlocked.com has charged my CC  exactly what they told in the booking email."  But that is what a genuine company is suppose to do.  You should not feel good when a company charger your cc exactly the amount they sold for.  In Lyause case here they over charge his CC and after 5 months they have not made any refund.  To me that is not bad customer service but stealing money from customer.  If I were lyause, I would contact better business bureau @ www.bbb.org

They did same to me. Madhav, Prabesh and other guys are working there. They are very cooperative when you call and promise to work but they will never. For me what they did is they assigned me different departure date than what was in original quote. But when I ask them to change it, first 2 weeks they say "we will do it tomorrow" but after 2 weeks they asked me for additional $200 if I want the different date....Never Never Never buy ticket from this agent.I was about to file complain but finally they did after 2 months....

UPDATE:

I filed a complaint for Landlocked Travels and finally Madhav Poudel from Landlocked finally responded to me. He called me (cellphone) on the 10th of February and asked me to remove this thread from sajha. He also said that he provided me with a compensation and told me that a thing like this would not happen again. Shortly, I got a email from him which I have attached below.

Later that day, I got a call from Suresh, from the same company asking me to remove this posting. He claimed that my check was on its way and I should get it in 3 ~ 5 days. It has been 11 days and the check has yet to arrive. I called Suresh about my refund again abt 5 days ago, when he replied again, the check is on its way.

I dont understand how scammy a Nepali company can be. Landlocked Travels gave me the wrong ticket as well as overcharged me. They have not yet paid the refund they owe me. 

DO NOT BUY TICKETS from LANDLOCKED TRAVELS, their website is TICKET2NEPAL.COM.

They ripped me off and a lot of people who have posted in this thread. They agree to what they have done, I have attached the email below.

ah i remember the website now, mahile pani yehai bata ticket katyako ho...Nepal jane bela ma and they gave me Abu Dhabi transit...18 hour ko transit thyeo ani i was flying on Etihad airlines. According to Etihad airlines ppl, my travel agent was supposed to give me a hotel accommodation if i stay more than 10 hours, Etihad airlines haru le transit badi hune passenger haru lai hotel dincha re free ma, but they told me my travel agent took the money but did not give me the hotel.  Even when I was ready to pay, airport ko transit ko hotel ko room nai khali thyenna so I need to stay on transit for whole fu(king 18 hours. AAouda ko lagi chai tehai dukha payara 200 dollar ma tehai din book garyea.  Nepal pugyara phone pani gayako ho mahile, Nepal ko euta number diyako thyeo tesh ma..tyo travel agency ma pani choor haru jasto manche basdo rayacha response nai Nadine, usa bata ticket katyako rayacha so we cannot do anything re..

Kasto travel agent ho nepali bhayara nepali lai thagne?? If somebody from that travel agency is reading this tread and I would like to say “GO AND FU(K OFF!!”

 kalo_chasma and everybody, seriously man, there's nothing called humanity in this world now. Why ppl have become so cruel and selfish yaar. Feel like dying sometimes rather than being alive in this fuc(king selfish world yaar.

I have not bought ticket from them (and will never buy from them) so I can't file a complain.  However those who had been ripoff from this company, file a complain throught the link below.  Certainly we all like our Nepali business community to do well but companies like this one can have a bad image of all Nepali owned business in peoples mind.

I finally received a $90 check from them today. The check was issued on the 18th. It was a bad thing that I had to go to BBB in order to get my refund. They solved my problem but it took 6 months to solve it.

Thank you Sajha Users for sharing your thoughts. It's information like this amongst us, that will bring the ill minded businesses down. I thank sajha also because this thread was one major reason, my refund was finally issued after 6 months of waiting period.

Its is really unfortunate that some businesses like this travel agency, Landlocked, don't have enough ethics & honesty to provide their customers - mainly made up of their fellow Nepalis, the very same group of consumers they boast to serve - the service they promise, and when they realize they have done something wrong, they utilize evry means not to correct it. I hope they will learn a good lesson from this thread & follow proper business practices from onwards.

They are really crappy people.  They sound nice and all ..huss! ..i'll take care of it right away.  I will send you confimation and eticket tomorrow.  But their tomorrow never seem to come.  They send you the duplicate copy of reserved ticket as labels it eticket.  If you call the airline they will verify to you that it hasn't been reserved/booked/paid for.
I was planning to buy tickets from them but after waiting for weeks and weeks for their tomorrow to come, I finally decided to cancel it and put on an alert on my bank and CC.   I will never go to them for tickets EVER again!!!
