 Nice concept.. This event is definitely  something i have never seen before... For a good cause too...  

 Not a big fan of ANA but this event sounds cool... i will be there.. hopefully there will be cute guys 

Fug ANA !!  They have no fugging transparency or accoutability.  Run just like Nepali Govt.. saab jana chorai chor !!  Just getting ready to fleece some more money from our Nepali Bhdedas !!!  If you want to follow the herd ... he he GO TO ANA !!

Although this event sounds modern and westernized, I am not sure how it will turn out because there is sort of taboo in Nepali society for girls to be so forward.

What will end up happening is that most hard core BOKAS will be the first ones to sign up spitting on their hands and rubbing them like a goalkeeper ready to save the goal. Some girls may find it appealing on first glance but they are afraid that it will have undertones of being open to getting laid. Hence participation from girls may be low.  It might resemble the bachelorette where 20 guys vie for 4 minute sessions with 2 girls. It's going to be funny to see a line of guys waiting to talk to 2 girls who are most likely going to be in the age range 30 to 40 plus.

I am not trying to discourage this initiative but trying to be practical about it from the Nepalese perspective.

 @bathroom Coffe - Although we are holding this event at the ANA, we are not affiliated to ANA in any matter. We are just using this as a platform to do something good for impoverished and underprivileged children in Nepal. That is why we are donating our proceeds to Nepal Youth Foundation. 

 @bad boy - Thank you for acknowleding this event as modern and westernized. But we have kept our values and culture in mind and try to do something different for our nepali youth. Regarding your comment of age plus of 30-40, that is why we have differentiated groups with age. When you go register for the event, you will have to choose your age group and we will group people based on their age. Please note that we are doing this event to raise funds for Nepal Youth Foundation. We are all young professional people with a goal in our mind- to help our county and her children, even if we are not physically present there.

Explicitly or implicitly, one of the reason single people flock to ANA is to meet their future partners. I think what you're doing is a commendable thing on making it direct. Also, I like the wordings you used, instead of saying Speed Dating, you made it more informal and friend/dating hookup.
I hope this works out and more people get hitched.

 @dolphin - we will only do equal number of boys and girls. We are keeping track of the ratio. Think about it, other event  for ANA cost around  $20.00. This event is the same cost but not only you will be making new friends and expanding your social network but also doing something good for the community. 



 

Are you sure this is not some scheme by ANA to bamboozle some more $$ from our Nepali Bhedas ?  Or make all the $$ from this proceed dissappear like Harry Houdini trick. he he  What organization is this $$ going again ? he he

How are you going to do equal number of boys and girls? Are you going to restrict registration when the number of boys and girls are not equal and wait till it catches up? How are you going to monitor the ratio when you have open registration? Are you going to refund some people's money saying sorry we have to maintain the ratio?

What is an acceptable ratio for you? 1 to 1 or upto 5 boys to 1 girl. What are the metrics that you are going to stick to?

 @grgdai - In accordance to maintaining the right propotion, we implemented limited registration policy. The minute this proportion gets larger, we will halt the registration per gender as required for other gender group to catch up. You can find the updates on our website should this happen.
