I just read that in Spanish News paper. According to them total of 27 Deported. Along with 7 Nepalese, 6 Pakistani, 1 Indian, 4 Mexican, 1 Korean and rest 8 from Kenya, Syria, kazikistan and some African country. They were caught from Irving, Arlington, Euless, Colony and Richardson. I don't know why they were deported but what it says on paper is that they are in the country with student visa.

Does anybody know anything about this ? .......A citizen of Nepal has been found guilty of four counts of failing to comply with his order of deportation, United States Attorney José Angel Moreno announced today. .... ......faces a maximum of four years in federal prison without parole on each of the four counts of conviction as well a fine of $250,000 for refusing to comply with the deportation order. http://www.myharlingennews.com/?p=23567

if people can't maintain their status, why don't they just go back home?! it's better to go back to Nepal rather than facing criminal charges here.

ICE arrested 27 immigrants in Dallas
DMN | 9/3/2011, midnight
Agents of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 27 people in the Dallas immigration violations, the agency said this week.
The 18 men and nine women are not related, nor part of one group.
Charges ranging from illegal residence in the country to violation of visa conditions for student exchange. The names and ages were not disclosed.
ICE officials said the August 26 arrests were the culmination of an operation that took 11 days, emphasizing that the only thing unusual was the number of detainees, officials said.
"This is what makes the unit," said spokesman Carl Rusnok referring to the agents who carried out the operation. "These arrests are routine."
The announcement of the arrests occurred on Wednesday, a day before the Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will visit Dallas.
One of those arrested was a student of aviation did not attend the flight school.
Twelve overstayed their visas authorized visitor.
Nine exceeded the time allowed or violated the conditions of their student visas.
One is an exchange student who exceeded their permitted stay in the country.
"One of the lessons we learned from 9 / 11 is the importance of review, track and enforce the visa program of study in the U.S.," said Alison Erichs, special agent in charge of the Dallas office of National Security Investigations ICE. "ICE HSI overseeing this important program."
Two of the 27 arrested are also accused of falsely claiming to be U.S. citizens, a felony that can result in deportation and permanent exclusion.
Of those arrested, seven are from Nepal, six of Kenya, six from Pakistan, four in Mexico and one from India, Kazakhstan, Peru and Turkey.
ICE agents located in Arlington, Blue Mound, Dallas, Euless, Grand Prairie, Irving, Justin, Richardson, Plano and The Colony.
Through a networked system, players track and monitor schools, programs, students, exchange visitors and their dependents, while students receive approval to participate in the U.S. educational system.
Some arrested remain in ICE custody. Others were released, based on personal circumstances.

Most of the students who were deported didn't maintain their F1 status. One must maintain GPA to continue one's study . Some students think nothing will happen if they don't maintain their F1 status. F1 visa is considered more prioritized for checking status by ICE because students are supposed to study while they are here.If one doesn't maintain GPA 2 out of 4 then one will be deported back to home country. Therefore , I suggest all students in U.S.A to study well and maintain you GPA. Thank you.

poon-hill bro , If one has less than 2 Gpa at first , then College or University will send you a letter .It says one is on Probation now. and one has to maintain 2 GPA next semester or you will be out of College or University. After receiving less than 2 GPA on two straight semester , one will be dropped from college. None of the College or University will give admission again. It is very hard to get admission. There is only one chance that one can apply first college or University When one came to USA. But , admission is not guaranted.
Thank you.

geek: oh yeah? why do they sell cigars and liquor to minors? why do they work against the law (2ohrs/wk for F1 student)? why do they get drunk all weekend and not study a thing and destroy their GPA? did I tell them to do that or did they choose to do so on their own? it's all your choice: what you do and how you do it. if you can't live by the law, you better be prepared to face the consequences, in this case deportation!

look at the words you are writing geek, who's ignorant? did i say anything wrong? anything bad to you? and yet you are writing those words; what are you trying to accomplish? that you are civilized and educated than me? well, good luck with that. if you don't like what i write, just ignore it. you are the one who started argument and if you can't argue in good terms, don't take refuge of your slangs to show what king of parenting you received.
once again, i read your statement and i'm saying again, they did illegal things knowing that they might get deported. i.e, they chose to do so. if you want me to explain this in simpler terms so that you can understand, let me know, i'll write in nepali next time.
btw, i don't give a damn about DV. I'm a F-1 student and i know what it means to be a F-1 student. go learn some manners first and come argue with me.

@jantare1 What a great thinking. True everything u said is true and I would love to abide by all the laws. But I want to ask you how many hours you work or may be you used to work?? Just to remind you that most of the times people have to struggle and work outside the lines too. I was on F1 and I understand that u have to do whatever it takes just to continue study. So I feel bad when Students are sent back when they are just trying to pay for their college and get a degree. And for other students who get drunk and do stupid things I don't have any thing to say for them. On the other note, I have heard from three different professor about their struggle when they were on F1. They were also busting their ass in gas stations (working illegally) before they had a degree and all Nepali brothers and sisters who do not have full scholarships are still doing the same thing. I don't see a ethical problem but it is against the law and have to be careful. Even the people who gave student visa to students knew that so no big deal. PS whatever it takes means working hard and I said all students work coz I ignored very few percentage of students who can afford to study without working
