does it bother you because you are a pakhey? Kathmandu used to be such a beautiful place full of great people before pakheys started coming to Kathmandu because of maoists.

don't get me wrong. pakhey is not a derogatory term. pakhey means those who came from the pakhas.

एउटा अर्थमा पाखा भनेको भिरालो बारी वा जमिन हो, यदि त्यस्तो भिरालो जमिनमा बसेकोलाई पाखे भनिएको हो भने सम्म परेको जमिन शहर बाहिर पनि हुन्छन्, तानसेन शहर पाखामै छ । अनि तराइको सबै सम्म भूभागमा शहर छैन । त्यहाँ पाखा छैन तर गाउँ त छ नि । त्यसैले शाब्दिक अर्थम शहरमा बस्ने शहरीया अनि गाउँमा बस्ने पाखे भन्ने आम बुझाइ गलत छ । यदि पाखामा बस्ने पाखे हुन् भने तानसेन शहरका सब बासिन्दा पाखे हुन् । त्यसै पनि पाखे शब्दको विपरितार्थक शब्द शहरीया होइन, पाखेको बिपरितार्थक त सम्मे अथवा यस्तै अरु केही हुनुपर्ला ।

दोस्रो अर्थमा असभ्य । सभ्य मान्छे शहरमा पनि हुन्छन् गाउँमा पनि हुन्छन् । जन्मेको ठाउँले मान्छे कति सभ्य अथवा असभ्य हुने भन्ने कुरामा केही फरक त पार्ला तर मुख्य असर पार्ने तत्व भनेको तिनको पारिवारिक पृष्ठभूमि हो । अझ तथ्याकहरुलाई केलाउने हो भने गाउँमा भन्दा शहरमा बढी कुलतमा फसेका मान्छेहरु हुन्छन्, असभ्य मान्छेहरु हुन्छन् । त्यसो भए गाउँका भन्दा शहरका मान्छे बढी पाखे ।

मेरो अर्थमा पाखे भनेको त्यो हो जसले बिदेशी संस्कृतिको नक्कल गर्छ, जसले देशमा बसेर बिदेशको नक्कल गर्छ अनि बिदेशमा बसेर देशलाई गाली गर्छ । त्यसकारण bad boy यदि तिमी नेपाली पार्टीमा जादाँ यदि कोही आधा नेपाली मा र आधा अङ्रेजीमा बोलेको देख्यौ भने, यदी कोही यो इन्डियन हिरो यस्तो, त्यो हलिवूडको हिरोनीले नाङै फोटो खिचिछे भनेर हल्ला गरिराछन् भने, यदि कोही त्यहाँ बिदेशी रक्सीमा मातिएर सोझासाझा नेपालीलाई पाखे भनेर गाली गरिरहेका छन् भने हो तिनीहरु हुन् पाखे ।

आशा छ अब bad boy लाई नेपाली पार्टीहरुमा जादा पाखे को हुन् र को होइनन् भन्ने छुट्टाउन गार्हो पर्ने छैन ।

"पाखे" असभ्य/कम ज्ञान भएको मान्छेलाई गिराउन प्रयोग गरिन्छ; पाखामा हुर्केकोलाई होइन! काठमाडौंको धुलो धुवा फोहोर अनि दुर्गन्ध र धन अनि "म त काठमाडौं बासी" भन्ने अहंकारको अन्धकारले ब्याड बोइ को मगज छोपेर उसलाई शहरीया पाखे बनाइदिएको छ! हेर बाबु, काठमाडौंमा धेरै बसियो, घर-काठमाडौं धेरै ओहोर्-दोहोर गरियो, तर तिम्रो काठमाडौंले कहिलै यो पाखे (तिम्रो बुझाईमा) को मन जित्न सकेन; धाक लगाउनु ब्यर्थ छ! छोरो अम्रिका ग'को छ, सभ्य बन्दै छ भनेर उता तिम्रा बा आमा गर्व गर्दै होलान, तर यता छोरो शहरीया पाखे बाट अम्रिकाने पाखे हुँदै छ भनेर कस्ले देख्ने? भगवानले तिम्लाई सद्बुध्धी दिएर यो पाखण्डबाट तिम्रो उद्धार गरुन! 
साथीहो, बबुरो अली कच्चा छ, दया गरौ यसमाथि! 

Somebody is Pakhe not because how he/she dresses but how they think. In Nepal, the literacy rate in rural areas a.k.a villages is lower than the cities so we tend to assume people in cities are more literate and show higher level of thinkings. So, if you lack to think rationally and even if your from cities, you would still be considered as a "Pakhe"
 If u think your not a pakhe just becoz your from KTM, suck off.

Its not about Being from KTM or Non KTM, you dont judge people by where they are from,plain and simple. isnt that what america is all about, you dont discriminate on the base of sex, color, religion and geographic location. you judge them by the substance they have,

With a lot of things already said, I would like to know how bad boy defines "pakhey" and "sahariya" ?

My parents moved from parents moved from rural Dhading to Kathmandu in mid 80s. Althogh my parets were born in rural area, my father attanded JP High School in Thamel and studied at AsCol. My mum attended the then famous Luitel School (same one where Dr Bhattrai, Dr Upendra Devkota et al were educated). They settled in suburb of Balaju (despite having house in Thamel) and we were brought up with the same values they were brought up with. I call myself "pakhey" as I still have the true Nepali roots and I dont only speak about it I follow it too.

I was born in Kathmandu and attended local primary school before joining big faous high school. I used to see some difference between myself and few others in the class. Specially, those who consider themselves "sahariya" in my view. Demanding unnecessary things from parents despite their parents unaffordibility was the most common and irretating thing. They were definitely better dressed and had better gadgets to play with but I am preety sure my parents were happier parents. Fast forward 10/15 years, here I am. Most of those who pretend "sahariya" have achieved nothing despite being in their mid twenties and most those who have similar values and background like mine (in my circle) are really well off either educationally or financially. I love my roots, if you define it as "pakhey", I am proud to be a "pakhey".

Pakhey is not just about where you are from. Your mentality makes you pakhey.

I see lot of pakheys in parties in US. they have been in US for 4 years but they still act like they just came from some village in Nepal. They are still wearing the same jacket they brought from Nepal and the same polyester pant. They still wear their Bata shoes. They still can't speak one grammatically correct english statement.

I don't have anything against them just find it funny.

 bad boy, don't judge people looking at their clothes and heavy accent. everyone doesn't have good english like yours, and maybe they don't have enough money to afford branded clothes like you can; or maybe they just think that it's not logical to spend big bucks on branded clothes and shoes when what they already have serves the purpose. they are just being themselves - they put on clothes they wish, they speak english the way they can, they behave with people in a cheerful manner, they often greet each other with an outburst of laughter you might call "paakhe", and they simply smile when they don't understand your sarcasm and i have deepest respect for them because i'm one of them. nomatter how awkward they seem in their outdated clothes and rugged english, they are not trying to be an american paakhe like you.

 I reckon you should change your nickname from Bad boy to Bewakuf boy coz you come across as a jackass to me.
