It will be hard to get back your broker cost with 1 or 2 shares..You can't afford to buy those right now.

I don't know man, with europe crisis looming, none of those seem attrctive to me for short term. I am not investing anything new until europe is sorted out.

AAPL ...has had some bad news lately , they have put forward the idea of divvying up and I heard on cnbc that they delayed orders for their parts for their new iphone(reduced demand)
technically its at the moving average line, if it loses that it will test the other Moving average line like last time ...and plus NOOK is out which is competition for both AMZN and AAPL

I have been on a shorting rampage on financials especially MS for the past week or so (for daytrades only though)...but I am short-biased on the financials as of right now as the EURO/USD is making fresh lows but I see a reversal possible and we might have that relief rally tomorrow after all

I don't know if you looked closely enough. AMZN and APPL are at 7 and 4 shares doesn't mean I invested less in those share. All 4 shares are divided equally at around $1500 / trade.

Its with scottrade. So the buy + sell fee is $14. If the total gain is above $14, then I am positive. I am not too worried about broker fees.

yes Nook is out there but I don't think it serously impacts the APPL and AMZN shares. AMZN shares got seriously beaten just few weeks ago and its on quite up ramp. Plus the holiday season is coming up so their sales and profit might go up.

I am thinking about shorting RIMM, getting rid of BAC and introducing C and/or GOOG . Any ideas about that?

These are just baseless arguments to predict the future. Analysts already take into account all these factors and estimates the growth/loss. And market moves on prediction based on all these factors.
For AMZN, because of holdiay seasons, they of course have to bring up their profit this quarter by huge amount. Otherwise, their current value which was already beaten down last week will go down further. If you are for short, you should also consider the technical analysis of charts.

P/e of AMZN is more than 100, one wrong move and they will have the fate of NFLX. I think it is overvalued and is a short candidate but then time and again it has been on consistent rise. I think GOOG was best deal around a month back I didn't have lot of money so didn't buy it and now cursing myself. I think GOOG will do better in long run. As for financial stocks, their exposure to europe will weigh very heavily on the fate of europe.

 as of current moment, asian stocks are down like crazy. are they down because DOW was 3.2% down today or will DOW go further down tomorrow because asian stocks are down tonight? Catch 22 scenario

@anon : you may be right. after all its stock market and risks are always there. But until Jan 2012 I don't think AMZN is going anywhere. their kindle fire is now getting more attention than AAPL ipad. They are going to sell the kindle fire at loss so the forth quarter profit could be significantly low. Whatever the case may be I vision upward moment until atleast Jan 2012. I planned to sell AMZN beginning Jan.

Its Italy which brought european markets down last night, american markets in the day and asian in the evening. World market acts in tandem and importance of eurozone economies and euro currency to the world is so pronounced that such worldwide sell off is expected. 

I hope u have good reasons for buying whatever stocks u bought earlier in the day. Stick to certain strategies and learn from yr and others mistakes. Hope u have read abt portfolio management at least a little and familiar with margins if u r using it. I also hope u r familiar with technical analysis. And remember this, there are a lot of smarter folks doing trading and investing for living so making money won't be easy. But its possible. How long it will take and how successful u will be solely depend on ur efforts. U have my good wishes.

anon, europe theme has dragged market for almost 6 months. Market love to particular themes are cyclical and european theme is coming to end for now. The can will be kicked down the road and hopefully see it again next few years. As soon as italy has some solution we will move ahead again. May be in couple of weeks !!!! Get ready and find the stocks u want to be in then.......

I was leaning towards a relief rally...and guess wat happened today

I was against AAPL long, and guess what happened... Yeah look it up

I was short financials...it was the perfect setup today...the gapup,and the downtrend...and into the red in the midday slump

I grabbed some RIMM short at 17.82s

I am not too concerned about AAPL or the AMZN for the moment. I may not make any money on those but I won't loose too. 
My concern is BAC. I would like to get rid of BAC.

EXEL long 200..4.47 average, nice consolidation going on rt now...looking to add at low 4.20s for a safe exit,(my bag)

Short 200 MPEL. 9.65 avg, chart looks like it's gonna crack further..but after-hours it's up ...might squeeze me..but EUR/USD kinda looks like it gonna tank a bit right this minute

3 is too many for me to hold overnight..but it's the house's money today from the awesome MS short today
