I donno for some strange reason I cud not connect with the last part of the story, but before that I was simply luving the flow. May be it hasnt been that long that I have been away from home or may be I am too naive to understand the obvious.

I have always luved your narration, they are too good.. I kinda visualize each and every scene with every word u jot in, this wasnt different. Loved your narration again and waiting for more.

Behoove me,

I'm in love with both the topic you have chosen and how you have written it. Marvelous.

Absolutely loved the story. I agree wtih you. People sit in their comfortable homes in US and talk about being patriotic Nepalis. Big talk, no action. I don't call myself patriotic and I fall under those people who give out few dollars every year in the name of helping Nepal. I do it not because I am patriotic but because it makes me feel good about myself. That's all there is to the end of it.

- I liked this thread ( headline/topic) but hate to read the long content. I must blame it to my twitter a/c as I'm used to of it :)
- I'd rather read the short snippet of the Nepal stay/visit only.
- Anyways, I hope you enjoyed your trip and had memorable times.

smooth man....continue.@Immigrants are not patriots, those pseudo politicians in New York, Boston and L.A are bunch of hypocrites, and so are the professors, engineers, doctors, all do-gooders in Midwest, panhandle, down south and all over who preach about their love for Nepal at the comfort of their living room.......@I was overwhelmed with emotion the moment I set my foot on the Nepalese soil. Memories flooded back, and so did emotions. For fifteen long years, there was nothing that I missed about this country, and now, all of a sudden, I found myself in tears, for some weird reason..............@So where was my home? Nepal? Or America? I was born in Nepal, but reconstructed my life in United States. Except for my family and few friends who couldn’t care enough, I had received nothing from Nepal. I had switched four jobs in two years, had relocated twice and was in complete despair thinking what might transpire in years to come. America was where I found my niche, I pay taxes, drive a good car, eat good, think, see and do good. So do the math, tell me where I belong. Man awesome....touched....

Nice narration, well done. I think most of us share your sentiments to the extent of our own experiences.

Not as an intention to take the focus away from your writing - some thoughts come to mind on the following given that there are many of us who, most likely, have similar dislikes:

"However, I still struggle to understand how can we speak of justifying actions of nepalese leaders, speak of terminating the poverty, or build infrastructures in Nepal at ANA or during gatherings when are main focus is to eat, drink and be merry."

This, admittedly, had been the norm for some of us for so long - however, we have begun to sway away from these organizations to tackle a few of the issues you mention quietly on our own individual merit. Maybe you can follow suit? An example of this is to get involved in the area where you have the greatest experiences and qualifications - and directly contribute in hopes of uplifting the entity, even just a few percentage points is enough, with a positive impact. These set-ups or partnerships work nicely when both you and the entity benefits, however.

Not to boast about it - but to just to give you an idea - I have recently agreed to volunteer to lecture at a local college in an area I have worked for years. I am also in touch with the stakeholders (mostly government officials and business sector players) to drastically improve foundational underpinnings in-par with the standard and regulations (seen mostly in developed countries) required for the industry to operate as a self-functioning entity. Whether it comes to fruition is another story - but having the chance to give back and work through the issues and processes is nonetheless a privilege, as opposed to an opportunity.
