Because there is no cause, it's like our tradition to hate them, but love their movies of shaking ladies. The saying Choti mooh badi baat by Girija Babu was too much in international tv channel. Tara bhaichara cha ra rahahancha, hinduism ko naam ma hosh ya devanagiri lipi ko naam ma, sanskritam jayate. Duwai desh ma gyaani ra. Agyaani manche chan, America ma Ayera bhetda buzhna sakincha. But there is need of Chinese nowadays I feel to balance. I wish my kids know Chinese and Indian equally, so Chinese Chaki sanga chu. Uttam.

The pull of social gravity is very restrictive. Freedom to do one's best only comes once you have put a distance between yourself and this social gravity. But it takes a lot of energy to break out of this social gravity. It takes conscious effort. But it is not impossible. It does not happen automatically like you believe.

A rocket ship without enough propulsion moving forward, will go backward. A rocketship needs deliberate and constant power to break out of the gravitational forces on earth that trap it. Especially when it is locked in a static position within the earths gravity, the rocketship needs a lot of energy before it gains enough momentum. Do you disagree?

If we are moving backward then that means that we as a society: you and I and everyone else....we are not putting enough energy in moving 'forward.' That is why we constantly find ourselves trapped in the earth's gravity. It is this social gravity that we cannot escape.

Sometimes the best way to love the people older than you is to show them that there is a better way. This takes courage and strength. You can't fake it.

Where are we going to get the power to break through this social gravity? I think that we need to be willing to build a 'social rocket ship.'

Any ideas how to build one? First we have to build a Nepali NASA .

What is a Nepali NASA?

It is a group of people who are serious and dedicated about wanting to break through the social gravity that traps us Nepalese as a society. First you need a body of serious people who are committed towards this effort: who see the urgency and importance of this mission.

So who wants to create a NASA?

The reason that we blame Indians is that most uneducated Nepalese have not figured out how to be proud of Nepal in an educated and positive way that has nothing to do with India. They still see Nepal as a small country that is dependant on India. They do not realize the Global image that Nepal has all over the world and how large and powerful nations view Nepal in a positive light.

A lot of uneducated and ignorant Nepalese believe Nepal is powerless. They believe that Nepalese are stupid. They believe that we are weak as a nation and that we cannot afford to rely on our own strength. They are threatened by what they see. They are afraid of being swallowed up by India as a whole. And they panick when they see this.

If they were educated, they would see a positive image and identity of Nepal, independent of India or any other nation. They would use literature, songs, poetry, movies, etc to promote this positive image of Nepal and inspire the world with the idea of what a wonderful country Nepal is. King Mahendra did this with Radio Nepal, once upon a time. That is why, you and I have the level of pride in Nepal that we have.

But unfortunately, since Mahendra's time, most of the educated Nepalese got so busy saving their own economic asses and dragging the rest of Nepal down by living the philosophy of the 48 Laws of Power. Since the educated got busy saving their own economic asses, the only people contributing to making Nepal better were the ignorant and uneducated.
And, as much as their intention was good, the only way the uneducated and ignorant Nepalse could contribute to instill a spirit of nationalism was by by hating and blaming Indians and India. I know they were trying to be helpful, but these uneducated Nepalese make it seem like India is our parent and Nepal is a crying and blaming little 4 year old that is dependant on Father India. And in the end, this image hurts us a lot more than it helps us.

Here  is our own San Pradhan's 48 Laws of Power and how it has contributed to the current state of Nepal:

Dhoti ji,

I don't get your logic. I hate eating bitter melon. I haven't personally asked it, but I don't think that every bitter mellon I have eaten necessarily 'hates' me.

Relations between the two countries sank to a low point in 1988 when Kathmandu signed an agreement with Beijing to purchase weapons soon after a report that China had won a contract for constructing a road in the western sector to connect China with Nepal. India perceived these developments as deliberately jeopardizing its security. India also was annoyed with the high volume of unauthorized trade across the Nepalese border, the issuance of work permits to the estimated 150,000 Indians residing in Nepal, and the imposition of a 55 percent tariff on Indian goods entering Nepal.

In retaliation for these developments, India put Nepal under a virtual trade siege. In March 1989, upon the expiration of the 1978 treaties on trade and transit rights, India insisted on negotiating a single unified treaty in addition to an agreement on unauthorized trade, which Nepal saw as a flagrant attempt to strangle its economy. On March 23, 1989, India declared that both treaties had expired and closed all but two border entry points.

The economic consequences of the trade and transit deadlock were enormous. Shortages of Indian imports such as fuel, salt, cooking oil, food, and other essential commodities soon occurred. The lucrative tourist industry went into recession. Nepal also claimed that the blockade caused ecological havoc since people were compelled to use already dwindling forest resources for energy in lieu of gasoline and kerosene, which came mostly via India. To withstand the renewed Indian pressure, Nepal undertook a major diplomatic initiative to present its case on trade and transit matters to the world community.

The relationship with India was further strained in 1989 when Nepal decoupled its rupee from the Indian rupee which previously had circulated freely in Nepal. India retaliated by denying port facilities in Calcutta to Nepal, thereby preventing delivery of oil supplies from Singapore and other sources.

A swift turn in relations followed the success of the Movement for the Restoration of Democracy in early 1990. In June 1990, a joint Kathmandu-New Delhi communiqué was issued pending the finalization of a comprehensive arrangement covering all aspects of bilateral relations, restoring trade relations, reopening transit routes for Nepal's imports, and formalizing respect of each other's security concerns. Essentially, the communiqué announced the restoration of the status quo ante and the reopening of all border points, and Nepal agreed to various concessions regarding India's commercial privileges. Kathmandu also announced that lower cost was the decisive factor in its purchasing arms and personnel carriers from China and that Nepal was advising China to withhold delivery of the last shipment. The communiqué declared that Kathmandu and New Delhi would cooperate in industrial development, in harnessing the waters of their common rivers for mutual benefit, and in protecting and managing the environment.

Babal Khata
Educating Nepal takes time and we had a pretty good literacy rate before Maoists.
By the way I hate India because their Sonia Gandhi hated King Birendra and they deployed their puppet Girija to destroy Npeal in the name of democracy.
At the same time, they used Maoists to terrorize the poor Nepali people. Who are Maoists? They are also Indian puppets like Girija...and Indian RAW backed them for more than 15 years.
I hate them for stopping oil and general merchandise to come to Nepal whenever they please.
I hate them because they did not let us buy modern Weapons from Israel, which would have solved the Maoist issue years ago.
I hate them because they are dhotis and like their bed bugs that they love carrying everywhere they need to be sprayed with the same shit and wiped out....
If you think I am a poor illiterate Nepali then yes, I am… so be it.
Jai Nepal

MN_Nepali,

This is what Geology Tiger is doing. What are you going to do for Nepal?
http://sajha.com/sajha/html/index.cfm?threadid=94480#845589

If your hatred for India does not at some point transform into love for Nepal in a concrete way, like Geology Tiger is doing, then of what use is your hatred to Nepal? What can Nepal buy with your hatred? Hatred is cheap. Positive action is gold. So stop hating and start acting. And if you cannot act today, at least think positively in relation to Nepal today. Because if you do that today, you will surely act positively for Nepal tomorow.

I am sure it would come as a shock to many indians if we tell them we hate them. Foreign policy is one thing, but most commoner indians love Nepal.

We give India too much importance. And India wants too much importance from us. It is a vicious cycle. We need to break that cycle with positive action for Nepal and by defining Nepal's relationship with the powerful nations of the rest of the world. That is the way to put India in it's place in relation to Nepal.

I don’t think anyone hates them in person.  How can anyone, and why? However, I do hate their mentality. And, Yes, I am afraid of Indian government and the policies they want to thrust on us to keep us underdeveloped. We are a sovereign nation, and I think they need to respect that. ELSE…..

Further, I think their in-secured mentality comes from generations of slavery. They were raped by Muslims from about 1600 to 1800, after which they started claiming that they were (again) raped by the British for the next two hundred years.

Having said that, (again) I don’t see a reason to hate them as individuals, but as a nation it does consists of a bunch of in-secured individuals, and I am terrified of that.   Think of a bunch of leeches/ cockroaches/ bed-bugs, on a common mission.

The concept of lumping up the 'Indian mentality' or anything that's non-discrete, and developing streotypical prejudices against such entities has never appeared 'real' to me, and I truly wonder how that works for many others.

The negativity that I (or a group of similar-minded people) develop toward such matters don't do much, instead increases the risk of backfiring the maker(s), and possibly brings frustration because of unachievable virtual goal(s)! There are real-life stories of Neo-Nazis: KKK, Skinheads and many more, represented in documentaries!

I hope our paths are not similar to theirs, and that we start viewing such things 'outside the box', as we enjoy the convenience of transparent information flow more than ever, and are fortunate to see more of the world with our naked eyes.
